Taste. Das bin ich:
Ich lebe mit meinem Mann und unseren drei Kindern in Bad Ischl in einem kleinen Einfamilienhaus mit großzügigem Garten – unser eigenes grünes Paradies. Meinem Wunsch nach der eigenen Auftragskonditorei stand somit nichts mehr im Wege. Außer einem Jahr voller umfangreicher Vorbereitungen ;–) Mit August 2023 widme ich mich nun täglich meiner Leidenschaft und begebe mich stundenlang in meine kleine, feine Backstube Zuhause. Für mich: wenn ich eine Torte oder andere Leckerei für dich gestalten kann, gibst du mir damit Momente des Glücks, weil ich diese Arbeit liebe. Darf ich mich in meine Kreativität vertiefen und mein künstlerisches Talent ausleben, so atmet meine Seele und ich fühle mich erfüllt. Dabei stelle ich mich gerne neuen Herausforderungen, um deine Wünsche und Vorstellungen umzusetzen. Große Tortenträume und Schoko-Visionen sind bei mir gut aufgehoben ;–)

Für dich: du bekommst ein essbares Kunstwerk, das mit viel Liebe und Leidenschaft erschaffen wurde. Es erfreut das Auge und den Gaumen gleichermaßen, vielleicht bringt es dich sogar ein bisschen zum Staunen. Es bietet dir glückliche Genussmomente auf mehreren Ebenen. Optisch, geschmacklich und sofern relevant: das beruhigende Wissen, dass diese Leckerei genau deinen Ernährungsbedürfnissen entspricht. Du bekommst bei mir sozusagen
eine „glückliche Torte“ ;–)

9 Fakten über mich:

Meine Familie ist für mich das Wichtigste auf der Welt und ich liebe es Mama zu sein – auch wenns manchmal ganz schön herausfordernd ist ;–)

Ich bin einmal jährlich an einem Sandstrand in Brasilien aufzufinden und könnte mich dort die ganze Zeit nur von Wassermelonen und Kokosnüssen ernähren.

In der Tätigkeit als Konditorin fühle ich mich zu 100% angekommen und habe mir mit meiner kleinen Auftragskonditorei einen sehr großen Traum erfüllt.

Ich unterhalte mich täglich ca. zur Hälfte auf Englisch. Meinen brasilianischen Mann habe ich in Dublin – ganz klassisch – in einem Pub kennengelernt und irgendwie ist uns das Irish English geblieben…

In meinen Adern fließt Schaffensdrang – ich brauche das kreative Tun, um mich „ganz“ zu fühlen.

Ich bin auch diplomierte Ernährungstrainerin. Als solche ist das Thema Ernährung für mich ein wichtiges und fließt in meine Arbeit als Konditorin mit ein.

Meinen Ausgleich finde ich, wie so viele Menschen, beim Abtauchen in die Natur.

Ich liebe es meinen Horizont zu erweitern und lerne stets Neues dazu. Als Konditorin genauso wie als Mama und in allen anderen Lebensbereichen, die mich gerade bewegen.

The most beautiful wedding cakes don’t begin with colours, flowers or Pinterest. They begin with TRUST.

When a couple shares what really matters to them, I have something meaningful to create from.

It might be a place they keep returning to, a memory that still makes them laugh, something they have been through together, or simply the way they want this day to feel.

That trust gives me something much more valuable than a colour palette. It gives me the memories, places, feelings and details that actually carry meaning for them, and those become part of the decisions I make while creating.

A flavour can come from a place they love. A texture can echo a memory. A form can carry something of the way they want the day to feel.

So when the finished work is finally standing in front of them, they don’t just see a beautiful cake. They recognise something of themselves in it.

And while I am making it, even the smallest detail carries that knowledge. If I spend an hour shaping a single wafer paper flower, I know what it belongs to and why it is there.

Then comes the moment when the work is finished and standing in its place at the wedding.

The couple and their guests come closer, discover the details, taste it, talk about it and experience it together. The story behind the work begins to reveal itself through everything they see, touch and taste.

For me, that is the most meaningful part of all. Seeing something I created reach people, move them and connect them to something that matters.

And in that moment, I feel that through my work, I have moved something in the world.

This is the part of edible art you can’t see in a photograph.

When I created The Edible Gallery, I wanted people to do more than look at the finished works. I wanted them to come closer, discover, touch, taste and experience the art for themselves.

And then there is everything that happens around it. People exchanging thoughts, sharing flavours, discovering something together. Each person experiencing the work in their own way.

Seeing how people interacted with the works that evening, and what those encounters brought out in them, was one of the most meaningful parts of The Edible Gallery for me.

Because ultimately, this is what I want my art to do. To reach people, move them and create something they will remember long after the physical work has disappeared.

We often think about art in terms of what remains.

A painting can hang on a wall for generations. A sculpture may still exist long after the person who created it.

My work is different in that way. I can spend days creating a piece while knowing that its physical existence will be very short.

But I’ve never felt that eating it means destroying it. Quite the opposite. It is part of what the work was created for.

Someone comes closer. They touch it, cut into it, taste it. And something that existed as a physical work becomes a part of themselves and their own experience.

That is what matters to me.

I don’t need the physical work to remain. I want the experience to reach someone deeply enough to leave a memory in their heart.

MEMORY

Something remains.

For The Edible Gallery, I chose five states that live at the heart of EVOKE and translated each of them into a dessert: Resonance, Sensuality, Becoming, Connection and Memory.

For MEMORY, I wanted to work with flavours that might bring back a sense of childhood or nostalgia. With most of my guests having an Austrian background, I turned to familiar tastes from growing up here: rye sourdough bread with butter, milk with honey and a warm cocoa.

Soft and light milk mousse with a center of honey crémeux, brown butter and Fleur de Sel. Milk chocolate brings in the cocoa, while a roasted sourdough crunch with butter and salt recalls a simple slice of buttered bread.

And this is where MEMORY touches on something that sits at the heart of edible art for me.

We eat every day, and most of those experiences disappear from our memory just as quickly as the food itself. But when something we experience touches something within us, brings back a memory, evokes a feeling, shifts our perspective or simply makes us stop for a moment, it becomes meaningful.

This is also where I see the particular power of edible art. Like any art, it can carry an idea, evoke a feeling or invite a different way of seeing something. But we don’t experience it only by looking at it. We smell it, touch it, taste it, feel its textures and finally consume it.

The physical form disappears in that process, but its purpose was never held in that form alone. The form was there to create the experience.

And once the work has reached us, once it has made us feel, remember, think or see something differently, it has already given us what it was created to give.

The work is no longer in front of us. Something of it is now within us.

Something remains.

What do you feel when you look at this piece?

Before thinking about whether you like the colour, the shape or the details, notice what it does to you.

For me, there is heat in it. Sensuality, intensity, something bold and slightly surreal.

Now imagine it in a room.

Because a cake doesn’t exist in isolation. It enters a setting that already has its own light, flowers, materials, music and people, and becomes part of how that moment feels.

Change the piece and you change the atmosphere around it. The same room can suddenly feel softer, more romantic, more playful or more restrained. This piece brings heat, sensuality and intensity into it.

That is the power I see in design: it can carry the feeling of a celebration into the room and intensify it.

So perhaps the question isn’t only what you want your cake to look like.

And then, the first cut.

An edible piece can be experienced on so many levels. It begins visually, through its form, its details and the way it becomes part of a setting and its atmosphere.

With the first cut, another part of the work becomes accessible as you discover its flavours and textures. For this cake, that meant pistachio, vanilla and raspberry within a sculpted white chocolate surface.

For me, this is one of the most fascinating qualities of edible art. It can speak to the eye and shape the atmosphere of a moment. Then taste, texture and the act of eating add another sensory dimension, bringing another layer of depth to the experience.

Love, in layers.

A life together isn’t made from one defining moment, but from all the ones that gather over time, creating countless lines and layers, some quiet, some shifting, none quite the same.

Sculpted by hand into white chocolate ganache, the surface holds all of that movement, while airy Gypsophila travels across the tiers, connecting one layer to the next.

To me, a life together is something that keeps taking shape over time, carrying all the moments and changes along the way, while something deeper continues to connect it all.

To the two of you, may your life together keep unfolding in the most beautiful ways. 🤍

Welcome! Let me introduce myself.

I’m Corinna, an artist and the founder of EVOKE, my edible art atelier in Austria. My roots are in pâtisserie, where I trained to master level. Craftsmanship and precision are deeply rooted in the way I work, and that craft has become my artistic medium.

I’m a very curious person, and much of that curiosity comes from a desire to understand what is true. I want to look beneath what we see at first glance, question what we take for granted and understand what is really there.

I think a lot of what EVOKE is today grew from exactly that part of me. When I create for a couple or a brand, I listen, observe and try to understand what carries meaning, and from there I begin translating it into flavour, texture and form.

Outside the atelier, I’m a mother of three, so life is considerably louder and less composed than this feed might suggest. Lost socks, toys taking over the house and sketches for elaborate cake designs somehow all coexist under the same roof.

I’m fascinated by psychology and the less visible sides of being human, and I love design, art and food. I also love travelling, especially when I can really immerse myself in another country and culture, taste the food, observe how people live and experience what life feels like somewhere else.

I can be incredibly analytical and very intuitive at the same time, and I’m someone who keeps going back to something until it finally feels right. Apparently that applies equally to a piece of art and a single sentence in an Instagram caption.

So you’ll find my work here, but inevitably quite a lot of me, too.
