Local Owner / Chef Dale Carty was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Anguilla. Dale’s beginning was at Anguilla’s Malliouhana hotel where he was trained by Master French Chefs Jo and Michel Rostang. In 1999, Chef Dale opened Tasty’s restaurant, which soo

n became famous thru out the Caribbean and thru out the world. Chef Dale has been featured in prestigious publications such as Bon Appetit, Conde Nast, Travel & Leisure, Gourmet, the New York Times, Food & Wine, Eagle Latitude and many others. In 2002, Anguilla Chamber of Commerce recognized Chef Dale as the Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2005, Chef Dale was among a select group of Anguillan chefs who received the Caribbean Hotel Association Taste of the Caribbean Award for the “Most Innovative Caribbean Menu”. Chef Dale is also an honored Guest Chef at the James Beard Foundation Chef’s & Champagne in the Hampton’s. Chef Dale prides himself on preparing fresh, creative Caribbean specialties and providing a personal, unique local experience. Tasty’s is a true LOCAL restaurant known thru out he world…enjoy!

Some connections are forged in the heat of competition — and that’s exactly where Chef Dale Carty first met Chef Michael Hinds at the Taste of the Caribbean Culinary Competition, proudly representing Anguilla and Barbados. What began as friendly rivalry has grown into years of mutual respect and admiration for true Caribbean culinary excellence.

Chef Michael Hinds is no stranger to challenges. From discovering his passion in a hotel kitchen at just 14 years old, to refining his skills at the Culinary Institute of America, to earning four consecutive gold medals for Barbados at Taste of the Caribbean, his journey is nothing short of extraordinary. His drive pushed him into some of the world’s finest Michelin Star kitchens, including London’s Chez Nico, where long hours and high-pressure environments sharpened his craft.

Today, with over 30 years of experience, Chef Michael Hinds is the Owner and Culinary Director of Westpoint Culinary Inc., leading restaurant operations, catering, and consultancy, with his renowned restaurant 101 West located at the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre in Barbados.
