A dear friend reminds me often that "legacy is about planting trees you never enjoy the shade of". With this in mind, I have been consciously looking for people who want the knowledge we want to live beyond us. While on vacation in Antigua and Barbuda, our family found a beautiful little coffee shop called Simply Coffee. After chatting with the Chef about pizza and how to make it, I asked his name, it was Anthony. Talk about irony. So I offered to teach him through videos using Whatsapp. A few days after meeting him, his store was having a party and he made pizza, garlic knots and what looked like pepperoni rolls. The food was a hit and I cannot wait to continue teaching him.
Most important to me is to leave this place having shared my knowledge with people who genuinely put it to good use so that it becomes generational. What could be better?
