INTIMIDATION AND POSTER REMOVAL HAVE NO PLACE IN OUR DEMOCRACY!
Magdalene Bangaree, ActionSA Nelson Mandela Bay Ward 15 candidate, and Roydon Brown, ActionSA Nelson Mandela Bay Ward 7 candidate, condemn the removal of ActionSA posters and the intimidation of our activists.
With the local government elections less than 30 days away, no reasonable person can claim to be unaware that political parties put up posters on light poles as part of their election campaigns.
Disagreeing with a political party does not give anyone the right to intimidate its activists or unlawfully remove its campaign posters.
Such behaviour is unacceptable, undermines the democratic process, and goes against the very principles of freedom of political expression and fair competition that our democracy is built upon.
Our activists have every right to campaign peacefully, engage with residents, and share ActionSA's message without fear of intimidation.
We will not be intimidated. We will not be silenced. We will continue to stand up for the people of Nelson Mandela Bay!
On 4 November 2026, let us show that the power belongs to the people โ not to those who seek to silence opposing voices.
