Position Summary: This position reports to the Mechanical Foreman.

Main Objectives: To assess tasks and plan equipment requirements to ensure the efficient and effective lifting and positioning of loads. Must be capable of developing lifting plans for various rigging operations.

Duties: Perform equipment and machine inspections, diagnose problems and ensure necessary corrections and repairs. Replace ropes on overhead and mobile crane. Ensure work crews are adequately supplied with tools, equipment and materials. Prevent misuse of equipment, materials and tools. Determine the appropriate lifting method for each assigned project and perform lead rigging on major jobs. Lead and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in lifting and moving materials and machines using power-operated equipment such as hoists, winches and cranes. Conduct basic heavy-lifting operations by rigging crane equipment and ensuring correct use of each lifting method. Assist with crane setup and direct crane operators when moving equipment to and from work areas (e.g., align, level and anchor cranes). Keep records of all completed work and action lists. Read, interpret and follow procedures accurately. Be familiar with and enforce strict compliance with all safety procedures, including Company rules and regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Minimum of NQF level 4 or equivalent qualification, with 3 years of relevant mining and process experience and a valid Rigging Trade Certificate.

External Bursary
Fields of Study: Mine-related and other relevant courses.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must be from previously disadvantaged groups. Preference will be given to residents of local villages and labour-sending areas of the mine. i e. Thembisile Hani Municipality, JS Moroka municipality, Bela Bela municipality, The City of Tshwane municipality

Proof of residence (not older than 3 months). Acceptance letter from a recognised tertiary institution. Copy of 2025 academic record. Certified copy of ID (not older than 3 months). Minimum average pass rate of 60% and above.

The bursary programme will cover: 100% tuition fees, including registration costs (tuition fees paid per semester); study material for the academic year; and accommodation accredited by the institution (up to a maximum of R50,000 per annum).

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months

Department: Laboratory

Position Summary: This position reports to the Laboratory Analyst.

Main Objectives: Focus on safety, quality, effectiveness, efficiency, throughput and housekeeping in the designated work areas. Demonstrate good handy-eye coordination, endurance, concentration, estimation and communication skills, as well as the ability to operate necessary tools and machines.

Duties: Sampling and collection of process control samples and any other ad hoc samples. Preparation and analysis of samples using XRF. Particle size analysis of samples using both Sieve analysis and the Malvern instrument. Moisture analysis of samples. Total Suspended Solids (“TSS”) analysis of samples. Responsible for housekeeping and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Responsible for checking and cleaning sample cutters. Laboratory stock counting. Required to work rotational shifts and provide relieve when necessary. General housekeeping.

Required Qualifications: Minimum of NQF Level 4 or an equivalent qualification with laboratory experience or Matric with Mathematics and Science.
