HI-Q DURBANVILLE INVITES YOU TO JOIN LIKE-MINED PEOPLE ON A FUN-FILLED DAY IN ATLANTIS DUNES

VENUE – ATLANTIS DUNES near Melkbosstrand.

RENDEZVOUS – HI-Q DURBANVILLE. 36 Queen Street, Durbanville.

WHEN – SATURDAY 20 JUNE 2026.

TIME – 07h30 SHARP. Calculate your travelling time so as not to be late. Respect your fellow participants, don’t be late.

COST – FREE, FREE, FREE.

UPON ARRIVAL – Coffee/tea and rusks will be served.

HI-Q DURBANVILLE LUCKY DRAW – HI-Q Durbanville will supply prizes for the Lucky Draw to take place at their showroom after returning from Atlantis Dunes. Each participating vehicle will receive a prize.

CASH LUCKY DRAW – Each participating driver will be required to donate R200-00 cash into a kitty on the morning at the HI-Q showroom toward the cash Lucky Draw. A separate cash Lucky Draw for the three cash prizes will also be done at the showroom after the main Lucky Draw. See prizes below.

1st Prize – R1000-00 CASH.
2nd Prize – R500-00 CASH.
3rd Prize – R250-00 CASH.

PREREQUISITE FOR BOOKING: A prerequisite to qualify for the HI-Q Durbanville 4x4 Day is that all vehicles must have a minimum of two participating adults. More people are welcome in the vehicle to attend.

GENERAL: Activities for the day will be overseen by a seasoned 4x4 overland guide. After the morning welcome and a short briefing, we will depart for Atlantis Dunes. This will be followed by a boerewors braai, beers and cooldrinks at the HI-Q Durbanville showroom where the two Lucky Draws will take place. Only drivers present qualify for the Lucky Draw.

BOOKINGS: People wishing to participate need to contact Cederberg 4x4 via email at [email protected] or Cell/WhatsApp 083 675 6194 requesting a booking form. All bookings work on a first-come-first-serve basis. A maximum of 12 x vehicles will be accommodated on the day.

IT'S NEARLY TIME, HAVE YOU BOOKED YET?

THE 19° LONGITUDE EAST TRIP, WHERE YOU WILL DISCOVER VERY INTERESTING PLACES, IS NEARLY UPON US.

WHEN: 16 – 24 MAY 2026.

WHERE: BETWEEN KLEINMOND IN THE SOUTH AND PELLA IN THE NORTH.

If you have a sense of adventure and enjoy exploring the unknown, this is a trip tailor-made for you. The trip will start in Kleinmond where 19° Longitude East meets land. A direct line north to the Gariep River (our end destination) is not possible due to the many mountain ranges and road availability.
Departing from Kleinmond, after having collected water in a special Cederberg 4x4 calabash, from the Atlantic Ocean (the Indian Ocean only officially starts at Agulhas), a tradition on all latitude & longitude trips. Our goal is to follow the line of 19° longitude east, as close as possible, to the Gariep River where the calabash will be emptied into the Gariep River.
The route between these two points is filled with mystique and adventure. Not only will we be driving many roads not normally used, many off-the-beaten-track places of interest will be visited and camp will be set as close as possible to 19° longitude east every night. A road map of South Africa will soon tell you a story of what you can expect along the line of 19° longitude east.

Not only will well-known places in the Kalahari be visited, you can rest assured you will experience the true feeling of having the red sand of the Kalahari beneath your feet and running through your toes. This experience alone will bring you back to the Kalahari for more. The Kalahari Deluxe trip will start at the well-known 4-Star Molopo Lodge with three nights Camping/Glamping/Chalet accommodation at this amazing lodge, enjoying activities in the area and ending with a two night camp at the 4-Star Khamkiri Lodge & Camp, also offering a wide range of activities. Two of the remaining three nights will be spent at the well-known Riemvasmaak Hot Springs, a must visit destination when in the Kalahari. A single night will also be spent at Goerapan, a well-known destination for 4x4 enthusiasts once a year with the annual Goerapan Challenge, only 100km north of Upington. Here you will experience an amazing Kalahari 4x4 sunset drive enjoying a sundowner while the red sun sets over the Kalahari. No visit to the Kalahari will be complete without a visit to the well-known Riemvasmaak hot springs and the 4 Star Khamkiri Lodge where we will spend two nights before heading home.

This coming Easter Weekend Cederberg 4x4 will be meandering through the Cederberg, driving TEN different passes during the Easter Weekend. After our rendezvous in Agter Paarl on the Friday five of the ten passes will be driven enroute to Kardoesie Farm Stall, situated at the top of Piekenierskloof Pass, where we will be setting camp for the weekend. The remaining five passes will be driven on Saturday, taking us through the heart of the Cederberg. No visit to the central Cederberg will be complete without a stop at the well-known Stadsaal Caves filled with history and the quaint town of Wuperthal in the northern Cederberg. A must drive route ensuring many highlights.

The ever-popular Atlantis Dunes – Exciting and challenging when dry

Cederberg 4x4 is once again visiting the well-known and ever-popular Atlantis Dunes. The prevailing winds have a massive influence in forming and shaping the dunes ensuring different challenges on every visit. Not only is the south Easter keeping the air clean in and around Cape Town, it also has been hard at work in Atlantis Dunes. During the summer months the south Easter has the biggest influence on the dunes, reshaping and rebuilding many of the well-known challenges like The Horse-Shoe, Figure 8, Wall of Death, The Long Dune and Koos-se-Gat. This will ensure great challenges and getting the adrenalin of drivers and passengers flowing a tad faster than normal and offers great opportunities to capture that special action photo.
As your confidence grows and you get to know the capabilities of your vehicle, the seemingly impossible dunes early the morning later become quite driveable and enjoyable. Atlantis Dunes is a family friendly venue ensuring great fun for all and also offering the opportunity to drivers to hone and tweak their sand driving skills. A light self-catered picnic lunch will be enjoy in the dunes.
