Happy Heritage Day, South Africa!

Today isn't just a public holiday, it's a celebration of everything that makes this country impossible to sum up in one sentence. Eleven languages. A hundred food traditions. And somehow, we all agree on one thing: nothing brings people together quite like a good meal.

Pap and wors on the braai. A pot of umngqusho simmering all afternoon. Bobotie in the oven. A biryani that took all morning. And here at CTFM Bloubergstrand… our seafood potjie, fish, prawns, mussels and calamari slow-cooked in a rich tomato sauce with savoury rice on the side.

Meet Raphael and Madida, our Back Of House Managers.
Raphael has been part of the CTFM family for an incredible 18 years, 3 at Canal Walk before Big Bay, where he has now been for 15 years. He started out as a fish cutter, moved on to griller, spent time in the sushi section too, and has worked his way through nearly every station in the kitchen to get to where he is today. His experience and dedication run deep.
Madida joined the Big Bay team in 2017. He started out as a griller, worked his way into the sushi bar, and through hard work has become one of our kitchen managers.
Front of house gets the recognition. Back of house does the work that makes it all possible. Today we wanted to change that, even just for a moment.
Next time you enjoy a meal with us, there's a good chance these two had a hand in making it happen. 🐟
Thank you both for everything you do behind the scenes. This one is for you. 💙

Meet Cassie, Zona and Tè-lin, the ladies behind the CTFM Bloubergstrand welcome.

Cassie makes it look effortless. She reads the room, knows which table feels right and has a natural way of making people feel genuinely expected. If you’ve been coming to us for a while, you’ll probably already know her smile.

Zona sets the tone. She brings an energy to that first moment at the door that immediately makes you feel like you’ve come to the right place.

And Tè-lin brings warmth. That smile that somehow says “we’ve been expecting you” … even when we haven't. 😊
