Due to anticipated impacts from Typhoon JANGMI, Okuma Recreation Facility will suspend check-ins beginning Sunday, 31 May, until further notice.

Guests with reservations affected by the closure will receive a refund. Additional information is provided in the image below.

Today’s Okuma View 🌿🌸

These beautiful flowers are called Shell Ginger flowers, known as “月桃 Gettou” in Okinawa.

Blooming during the early summer season from April to June, Gettou features delicate white flowers with soft pink tips that hang like little lanterns. The plant has a fresh, soothing fragrance and has long been loved in Okinawa for both its beauty and traditional uses.

Locally known as “Sannin” or “Sanen,” its leaves are commonly used to wrap Okinawan mochi, and the plant is also used in aromatherapy and skincare products.
