After a bit of a breather from socials we are BACK..... and with some exciting news. Ballan has a new space for functions, and it would be our pleasure to curate the menu for your special event.
We are looking forward to being the resident caterer for functions held at Ballan Bakehouse & Bar
The freshly renovated space offers small to large indoor and outdoor spaces, and you’ll enjoy a full range of drinks at bar prices. Menu packages can be as simple as a good old-fashioned Pie and Pastie Night, all the way through to seated dinners featuring our specialty Carvery Platters with quality meats from Ballan Local Butcher...of course!. This also means we’re hiring again! - We are seeking a new member(s) to join our team. Work would be erratic. Sometimes can be 2 or 3 shifts a week, but you might go two or three weeks without so you'll need some flexibility with your time, a preparedness to work nights and weekends and being available on Fridays would be mandatory. Christmas is not far off so it's time to start thinking about office gatherings, break ups, wind downs and neighbourhood get togethers!
We have the simple answer with both sweet, and savoury Festive Grazing Boxes. The savoury contain Ham, Cheese and Cranberry Sandwiches, Turkey and Sage Seasoning Sandwiches and Gluten Free/Vegetarian Cheese, Onion and Cranberry Fritatta. Sweet contains Mince Pies, Rumballs and White Christmas(GF)...or you can custom build with your own suggestions by including Sausage Rolls, Egg' n Bacon Pies or Ham and Cheese Sesame Sliders. As for the sweet, perhaps some Fresh Berries and Cherries, Meringue Cups and Chocloate Brownies might hit the spot.
All delivered to your door, beautifully presented with a festive touch and boxed with a colourful Christmas ribbon.

If you're up for a fun night out learning a few new dishes for your party arsenal then hop onto the Ballan Neighbourhood House website and book in for November 10th. You'll make 3 or 4 party sharing dishes including paella. After our cook up we then get to sit down and enjoy with a glass of wine and a natter!

All ingredients supplied, you just bring yourself and an apron for some foodie fun, then take the recipes home and impress your friends at your own gathering!

Oh my word...an entire season has gone by without a post from me! I'm much better in the kitchen than on anything to do with technology!
Happy Spring everyone. Life has been super busy with everything family AND food related and time simply slipped by.

WINTER IS JUST 2 DAYS AWAY!!!

If you fancy a family get together with a Sunday Roast, we'll be offering Roast Beef and Lamb with all the traditional sides, delivered to your door (Ballan only - small charge for other areas).

SUNDAY 11th & 18th of June ONLY

Adults, $35 a head - Children (under 12) $25 a head.
Sticky Date Pudding with Cream also available at $10 per head.

Large Family Discount of 10% for orders of $200 or more

Early orders would be advised as I have a limited amount of Sher Wagyu Bolar Roast to work with and the Shazam Lamb will be pre ordered. You'll get succulent slices of meat, Crispy Fluffy Roast Spuds, Cauliflower Cheese, Veges and Rich Homemade Gravy.

After a whirlwind start to the year and a short break for interstate family commitments we're back in force from June 1. Business meetings, family celebrations, morning and afternoon teas, you name it - we've got you covered. It's been a busy February with Sausage Roll after Sausage Roll, Sandwiches galore, Carverys for special occasions and wall to wall Mini Quiche Lorraine (or should I say, Egg 'n Bacon Pies, because apparently men don't eat quiche!!). March looks the same and in fact we only have mid week bookings available until end of May!.
So, time to think ahead if you'd like any weekend catering in June or beyond.
