For over 30 years, Strickland Brother’s Furniture remains one of the oldest and leading furniture making companies in Samoa. Originally founded by Joe Sosiua Strickland in 1983 at his family home as Joe’s Caneware specialising in cane furniture, the company expanded its range to local hardwood furniture in the early 1990s and in 1999 Joe successfully

negotiated ownership of a logging company and established a new name, with this breath of fresh air Strickland has since been manufacturing 100% locally made and sourced furniture from quality local wood. For timeless furniture, Strickland offers pieces from the finest materials like the Kwila wood (instia bijuca) locally known as Ifilele and finishes for a world of elegance and style. To us, furniture offers the backdrop to spaces where people live their lives, our furniture hopes to provide you with the comforts to enjoy these moments be it at home, at the office, in schools or in prayer at church. All our staff are trained local young men under the watchful eye of senior experienced staff, one of whom has been with the company since 1983. Our family is very particular when it comes to building/construction but especially wood work and finishing. There was a specific kitchen unit I wanted for our house. I started my rounds of looking for a contractor whom would be able to construct the exact kitchen unit I wanted and I came across SBL through friends. The final product turned out exactly as desired and we were very pleased with it. A special feature is the island – and we’re able to move it around to whichever location we wish.
