Bống - appétit will be taking a break from August 11th.

We’ll share our reopening date here as soon as we know it.

Until then, thank you for being part of our little corner. We’ll miss seeing all the familiar faces that have made this place feel so special. It’s been a privilege to spend each day baking and welcoming everyone through our doors.

We look forward to having you back when we open again and we hope to continue sharing coffee, cakes & quiet moments with you! 💛

There are little moments of sweetness at Bống - appétit. Like walking into the kitchen and finding it filled with the irresistible scent of strawberries. 🍓

It was impossible not to give in, so we made a fresh batch of our Chocolate Cake with Strawberry butter cream. Moist, soft and just the right amount of sweet, with two layers of chocolate cake nestled between silky strawberry cream and little bursts of homemade strawberry jam.

Pink, fruity, chocolatey and perhaps a little too easy to fall for. 😛🙋🏻‍♀️♥️

Lemon alone would have been lovely… but summer deserves a little lime too. The extra brightness cuts through the rich, creamy cheesecake so well, creating that refreshing balance we can’t get enough of.

Consider this your gentle reminder that having a slice of Lemon - Lime Cheesecake at Bống - appétit belongs on this week’s to-do list.

At Bống - appétit we don’t try to impress with towering cakes or elaborate decorations. We simply believe that good ingredients, careful baking and balanced flavours speak for themselves.

Our cakes are homemade in the truest sense: the kind that look simple, yet take far more time and care than they seem. The kind you could make at home… though most people would probably rather let us do it. 😉

And if you’re wondering where to start, Grandma’s Chocolate Cake has remained one of our most-loved favourites for a reason. 🍫🤎

With a fresh batch of homemade strawberry jam ready, we couldn’t resist creating something new.

This time it became these Strawberry Rolls. Our first attempt, with a recipe tweaked along the way and somehow, they turned out even better than we hoped.
We baked eight. Two disappeared before they even had a chance to cool… 🤭

Soft, gooey, buttery, filled with our homemade strawberry jam and best enjoyed with a pot of hot tea. Sometimes, that’s all a weekend needs. ♥️🫖🍓

Homemade means something different to everyone.
At Bống - appétit, it means baking truly from scratch. Every layer, every filling, every frosting is made in-house. Even the endless washing up comes with it. From start to finish, it’s all done by one person. 🙋🏻‍♀️

More importantly, every cake carries something you can’t write into a recipe: the time, the focus and the quiet care of the person making it.

Our Strawberry Fluffy Cake takes around five hours to complete, from slowly cooking fresh strawberry jam to baking the sponge and finishing every detail by hand.

A slice may disappear in fifteen minutes or less. But perhaps, for just a moment, it’s worth remembering the five hours of care behind it.
Maybe that’s the beauty of homemade. ♥️

Not exactly a new face at Bống - appétit but this is the first time our Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake has arrived in cute cupcake form. 🧁
Rich, moist chocolate cake topped with a silky peanut butter frosting that keeps every bite perfectly balanced.
Well… you’ll just have to try one! 🙋🏻‍♀️♥️

Chocolate not your thing? Peanut butter neither?
That’s okay. Our Scones, Banana Cake and Coconut Mousse Cake are happy to steal the spotlight. 😛

It’s hard to think of a cake more generous with bananas than banana cake🍌 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍰

Our kitchen had a few too many perfectly ripe bananas today, so the oven made the decision for us. 🤭

Sweet, fragrant bananas folded into a soft, buttery cake, finished with a generous layer of silky cream cheese frosting.
One slice is lovely. The second is almost inevitable!
