🌮🔥 CHEW WITH EW — TACO N TODO | McALLEN, TEXAS 🔥🌮

This week on Chew with Ew, I made my way to McAllen, Texas, to check out a little spot called TacoN'Todo

I’ve been seeing their ads all over Facebook and Instagram, and yeah…the food looks good in the pictures. But come on—ads only tell you so much. I gotta TASTE the food for myself! 😂

So I walked through those doors and right away was greeted with great customer service. They told me to sit anywhere I wanted, so you already know me—I grabbed that far corner where I could relax, enjoy my food, and see what this place was really about.

The menu is simple and straight to the point. Tacos, hot dogs, and some of the other good stuff you expect from a taqueria. No need for a 10-page menu. Know what you do and do it right!

I decided to go with five tripa tacos. 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮

But before those tacos even hit the table, I started with the beans…

HOLY MOLY! 🔥🔥🔥

The FLAVOR in those beans was insane! I’ve eaten at plenty of taquerias, and everybody has their own style, but these beans stood out BIG TIME. They had me thinking, if the beans are this good, what are these tacos about to do to me?! 😂

Then the tacos arrived…

Man, it felt like I was about to conquer Mount Everest! 😂 The presentation looked amazing, the tripas had that beautiful crunch, and once I took that first bite…

GAME OVER. 🥊💥

Crunchy. Flavorful. Delicious.

I could NOT stop eating!

Sometimes you eat something so good that words just don’t do it justice, and that’s exactly what happened here. These tacos were a straight-up KNOCKOUT!

Taco N Todo isn’t a place I’d say you need to visit just once. Go once. Go twice. Hell, go THREE times! 😂

If you’re in McAllen or anywhere in the RGV and you haven’t checked this place out yet, make the drive. The food speaks for itself.

🍔🔥 WESLACO, TEXAS… SOME PLACES ARE HIDDEN GEMS, BUT THIS ONE IS STRAIGHT-UP LEGENDARY! 🔥🍔

On today’s episode of Chew with Ew, I decided to stay close to home right here in Weslaco, Texas, because sometimes you don’t have to travel far to find some GREAT food!

Today’s stop: Salazars burgers y más, a Weslaco spot that’s been around since 1953! When a place has been serving the community that long, you already know there’s a story behind that grill. 👏

I walked in and was greeted with a smile. First thing I did was check out the menu, but I already had a pretty good idea what I wanted — the Original Cheeseburger and those unbelievable ONION RINGS! 🍔🧅

And let me tell you… when they brought my food out, they served me like I was the LAST MAN ON EARTH! 😂 That mountain of onion rings was CRAZY!

But big portions don’t mean anything without flavor — and Salazar delivered. The burger was hitting, the onion rings were top-notch, and the flavors were bouncing off the walls. Add some excellent service on top of that, and this visit was exactly what I expected from a legendary Weslaco spot.

⭐ CHEW WITH EW RATING: 5 OUT OF 5! ⭐

Salazar Burgers y Más continues to hit the mark. Yes, the prices may be a little higher depending on what you order, but trust me — the flavor and portions make up for it.

If you’re in the Weslaco area and you’ve never checked this place out, what are you waiting for? Support a longtime local business and grab yourself a burger and some of those onion rings!

🌮🔥 CHEW WITH EW — I FINALLY STOPPED AT THIS PLACE! 🔥🌮

You ever have one of those restaurants you drive past EVERY SINGLE DAY and keep telling yourself, “One day I’m gonna stop there”?

Well, today was that day!

On today’s episode of Chew with Ew, I stayed right here in Weslaco, Texas, and finally stopped at Juan Botas Drive Thru & Grill LLC.

I pass this little place going to work and coming home from work, and it has always caught my eye. But I’ll admit it — part of me kept thinking, Man, what if I stop and get disappointed? 😂

Then I remembered… HELL, I’M A FOOD BLOGGER! This is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing! Finding these little spots and seeing what they’re all about.

So I pulled in. First thing you need to know: parking is limited, and the dining area is small. But don’t let the size of this place fool you because I walked inside and got BIG SERVICE!

I was greeted with a smile, handed a menu, and they immediately started recommending some of the good stuff.

I decided to go with the Enchiladas Americanas, with a side of beans, and let me tell you…

🔥 FLAVOR AFTER FLAVOR AFTER FLAVOR! 🔥

Everything was hitting! The enchiladas were packed with flavor, the beans were on point, and what surprised me even more was the price. Very reasonable for what you’re getting.

Good food. Great service. Great music. Great vibe. And prices that aren’t trying to empty your wallet.

⭐ CHEW WITH EW RATING: 5 OUT OF 5! ⭐

Just remember, it is a smaller place if you’re planning on dining inside. But they also have two drive-thru lanes, so you can order, pick it up, and be on your way.

Sometimes those little places you drive past every day are the ones you should’ve stopped at a long time ago.

I want to say this respectfully because everyone is entitled to their opinion.

You don’t have to agree with my reviews. You don’t have to like every restaurant I visit, every meal I try, or everything I say. That’s perfectly okay.

But there’s a difference between having an opinion and leaving a comment just to be negative or disrespectful.

If Chew with Ew isn’t your thing, there’s nothing wrong with simply scrolling past. There are plenty of people who enjoy the blog, recommend places for me to visit, share their own experiences, and have fun with what I’m doing.

I’m doing this because I enjoy it. I enjoy supporting local businesses, trying new places around the RGV, and sharing my experience with everyone who chooses to follow along.

Constructive criticism? 👍 Always welcome.

Different opinion? 👍 No problem.

Disrespect just for the sake of being negative? 👎 That’s unnecessary.

You never know what somebody is dealing with behind the scenes, so why go out of your way to ruin somebody’s day?

On today’s Chew with Ew, I stopped by El Papas in Port Isabel. The spot’s a little hidden, but the welcome was friendly, and the service started strong. I tried the beef fajita special, and while the food came out fast, it was missing that seasoning and soul I look for. Service dropped off after the food landed, no check-ins, and a bit of a wait to pay. I never enjoy giving a low score, but for this visit, my rating is 2 out of 5. That’s just my personal experience though, and your visit might be very different. I want every local spot to succeed, and hopefully next time it’s a different story.
