We’ve been quiet for a little while. Between moving, getting settled, and everything that comes with starting a new chapter, we took some time to get our footing.

Now, we’re back — focused, energized, and coming back swinging.

And officially, hello Waukee and Des Moines.

Opal & Oak is planting roots in the metro, and we’re stepping into this next season with fresh ideas, new concepts, new opportunities, and a lot already in motion behind the scenes.

The next few months are going to be busy, creative, and full steam ahead.

May we never forget those we lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the strength shown in one of our nation’s darkest moments.

I had the privilege to head back to where my education started and fuel our teachers as they get ready for a new school year to start. Our teachers are the foundation of where our life takes us. I thank all of them for always being there teaching and supporting me. Always a Wildcat💙💛

A New Chapter for Opal & Oak

Opal & Oak is currently entering an exciting season of growth as Harrison prepares to move to Des Moines and expand our operations into Central Iowa.

While this transition marks a major step forward, Humboldt will always remain an important part of who we are and where our story began. Our Humboldt operations will continue, with our Director of Client Relations serving as the primary contact for Northern Iowa. Harrison will lead our Des Moines operations and continue building relationships throughout Central Iowa.

This move represents more than a new location. It is the next chapter of a dream built through hard work, trust, and the support of the communities and clients who have believed in Opal & Oak from the beginning.

We are deeply grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way. As we grow, our commitment remains the same: to provide thoughtful, personalized, and elevated culinary experiences to every client we serve.

We look forward to continuing our work in Northern Iowa while creating new opportunities and lasting connections in Des Moines.

After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the upcoming Opal & Oak pop-up while we work to find a date that is more accommodating for our customers and the community.

We truly appreciate everyone who shared the event, expressed interest, and continues to support Opal & Oak. Rather than move forward with a date that may not work well for everyone, we want to take the time to reschedule the pop-up for a better opportunity to gather and enjoy the experience together.

A new date will be announced once it is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. We look forward to seeing you at the rescheduled event. ❤️

There is something special about gathering around a table simply to enjoy beautiful food and even better company. 🤍

I had the pleasure of creating this intimate summer luncheon for my mom and her friends—an afternoon filled with conversation, laughter, and a menu designed to feel fresh, elegant, and distinctly seasonal.

The experience featured strawberry gazpacho finished with fresh berries and thyme, chilled cucumber-lime soup, handcrafted sandwiches served on ciabatta and buttery croissants, freshly brewed tea, seasonal refreshments, and individual lemon desserts layered with vanilla bean whipped cream, fresh berries, and mint.

Every detail was intentional—from the vintage china and floral touches to the presentation, pacing, and balance of flavors throughout the meal.

This is the hospitality at the heart of Opal & Oak: thoughtful menus, refined details, and personalized experiences that give people the opportunity to slow down, connect, and create lasting memories around the table.
