Thally is the brainchild of Managing Member Sherman Outhuok. After finally finding the perfect place, on a burgeoning block of 9th St. NW near the DC Convention Center, Thally was born. The name pays tribute to the Shaw neighborhood as well as Sherman's family: “Thally” refers to the Tally-Ho Stables (built in 1883) located in Naylor Court directly behind the restaurant, as well as to Thalia, Sher

man’s daughter. Thally was conceived to be a comfortable and inviting neighborhood restaurant, as well as a destination worthy of Washingtonians crossing the city to 9th St NW to discover our mouthwatering cuisine. Thally serves Modern American Cuisine created by Executive Chef Jesse Long, along with a rotating list of wines and craft beers, custom cocktails and over 110 spirits in a 70 seat restaurant which includes a 12 seat bar. Our food is best summed up in three words: Simple, Fresh, and Flavorful.

Friends, Thally Restaurant has been sold. Our last day will be this Saturday February 3rd. We have loved serving the great community of Shaw and look forward to another location sometime in the near future.

Legacies of War is hosting a cider tasting at Thally. We have more than 50 ciders from the United States to France and Spain. We invite you to join us for a great afternoon of sipping, socializing, and saving lives!

Enjoy a Sunday afternoon tasting 10 different ciders along Rob Miller, owner and local cider producer at Distillery Lane Ciderworks in Jefferson, MD. $5 from every ticket sold and 25% of all special cocktails and ciders sold by the glass will benefit Legacies of War, a local Shaw nonprofit to save lives from unexploded bombs in Laos.
