An Event Worth Remembering...
Each cupcake is lovingly handmade from scratch using wholesome ingredients and a sprinkle of love! It's just always been a part of my life. What I do remember is how important the details have always been. Not just the actual baking, but the preparation, the ingredients, the tools and the presentation. Each step has always been inspired by emotions-baking for those I
care about, seeing their enjoyment, knowing how happy they are when I make "their favorite". From an early age, I was inspired by the women in my life and their attention to detail in everything they did. From my mom's homemade "Barbie" birthday cake, Easter Bunny treats and Christmas cookies, to Nancy's beautiful baked goods and homemade spaghetti sauce. From Nana's "arroz con gandules" to the over-the-top themed parties my mom and Bebe always created for every important occasion in my life. Everything they did was an expression off their love for me. Everything they did was an "Event"! Eventually, I took over some of those events and I have followed in their tradition. In everything I do, I try to share my feelings for my friends and family. Whether it's baking lemon cake for my brother Javier or pineapple-upside down cake for my "aunt" Martha or creating my own invitations and special gift-wrapping; I always seek to find just the right thing to show how much I care and to make everyone feel the love. In addition to what I learned from the women in my life, I learned preparation and presentation techniques from expert caterers and professional party planners at Marriott Industries and Pampered Chef. To all that, I added my own experimentations. But, It took baking for my friend Tandy's baby shower to show me that my passion for baking could go beyond feeding my friends and family and actually become a business. I poured all my love and experience into the chocolate cupcakes that I made that day. Her guests raved and asked if I could bake for their next events, assuming I was a professional baker. Since then, I have been working hard to make "Cupcakes By Jo" and event worth remembering. Each cupcake is lovingly handmade from scratch, using wholesome ingredients & a sprinkle of love. Each new flavor is carefully researched and perfected. Every order is beautifully packaged in our signature box. To me, cupcakes are an expression of love - from preparation to presentation, from first bite to lasting memory.
