Zenhens Sustainable, Organic Urban Farming How can you make a difference in today’s world? Think differently, Zenhens does.

Our goal is to deliver a consistent source of local, fresh, organically raised chicken eggs and organic produce. Critical to Zenhens Urban Farming Cooperative is support of local backyard gardeners and chicken keepers, developing sustainable agricultural practices and selling our food at area markets.

The blue color of chicken eggs is caused by insertion of a retrovirus into the chicken genome, which activates the blue eggshell gene.

About a year ago Zen Hens member and filmmaker Steev Hise shot the wonderful video for our Kickstarter campaign, and helped manage the campaign, which was successful and allowed us to print up our great t-shirts and aprons. Now Steev is involved with a new documentary about homelessness in Tucson which just launched its own Kickstarter.
