Update:

I have now completed one final, thorough search of our property, including inside and outside of our home, all of our vehicles, and the bakery trailer.

The cashbox is not here.

At this point, I am confident it was not misplaced or accidentally moved. A police report will be filed, and any available camera footage and witness information will be provided.

We have also received reports from neighbors regarding an individual on an e-bike leaving our private driveway between approximately 12:00 AM and 12:45 AM this morning (06/11). Our driveway does not lead anywhere other than our home and vehicles, so there was no legitimate reason for someone to be on the property at that time. At 12:24 AM our front porch camera was triggered but doesn’t show anything.

I cannot say whether these incidents are related, but all information is being documented and passed along.

If whoever has the cashbox is seeing this, there is still an opportunity to do the right thing and return it. No questions asked.

I’ve delayed posting my schedule for this week in hopes that someone would do the right thing and return the cash box that was taken.

Unfortunately, that has not happened.

As many of you know, that cash box wasn’t just a few dollars from a day’s sales. It was my event fund—the money I use for inventory, supplies, and everything needed to keep the trailer running from event to event. Losing it has forced me to make some difficult decisions this week.

Because of that, I will not be attending the public events this week I had originally planned.

I do still have a private event scheduled at Lake Bonin for Dog Days this Saturday. Please note that this event is only open to registered campers and guests visiting registered campers.

I know many people have shared my previous post, checked in on me, and offered words of encouragement. I truly appreciate every single one of you.

I’m still hopeful that the person responsible has seen those posts and chooses to do the right thing. If the cash box is returned, no questions asked, I would be grateful for the opportunity to move forward and focus on growing this business rather than recovering from this setback.

Homemade Puppy Chow for a private event this weekend. 🐾🍫

Now I need to settle an important debate…

Did you grow up calling this Puppy Chow or did your family call it something else? 🤔

I’ve heard:
• Puppy Chow
• Muddy Buddies
• Monkey Munch
• Reindeer Chow

And I’m convinced every family has their own name for it. 😂

Whatever you call it, it’s one of those snacks that somehow disappears way faster than it should.

I want to clear something up regarding the missing cash box.

The cash box was NOT taken during a porch sale.

It was either taken from our front porch while we were moving items inside Friday night after an event, or sometime Saturday morning while I had it out while cleaning and organizing.

As a new business owner, I’m honestly sick over this.

People see the trailer, the events, the treats, and the fun social media posts, but what they don’t always see are the sacrifices, long hours, financial risks, and countless behind-the-scenes expenses that go into building something from the ground up.

Having to start completely over with my event cash fund is taking a toll on my family. Every dollar in that box was put aside to keep this business moving forward.

If I’m being completely honest, this was always my biggest fear when it came to accepting cash.

I’ve gone back and forth on whether I should move to card-only payments, and this situation is making me rethink that decision. I understand that a large portion of my sales come from cash, and I never want to make things difficult for my customers. But at the same time, as a small business owner, I simply cannot afford to lose money.

Every dollar matters when you’re building something from the ground up. Those dollars pay for ingredients, supplies, event fees, equipment, fuel, inventory, and everything else that goes into keeping a small business running.

I’m not posting this for sympathy. I’m posting this because small businesses are built on trust, and unfortunately this has been a difficult lesson for me.

I’m not sure what the answer is yet, but I do know that moving forward I’ll be making some changes to better protect myself, my family, and my business.

To the overwhelming majority of people who support me, encourage me, and do the right thing every day—thank you. Your support, encouragement, and kindness mean more now than ever. 🖤

Whoever walked off with my cash box between the East Smithfield Market event on Friday and Saturday morning (June 6), please return it with the money that was inside.

📍 351 Elmira St, Troy, PA

No questions asked.

I know exactly how much money was in it, and I still have the keys to the cash box, so it isn’t much use to anyone else.

I’ve attached photos of the cash box and the sticker that is on the top for identification.

If you have it, please do the right thing and return it. It can be left on my porch if you’d prefer.
