“Emilee Morrison’s debut album, released in October 2024, features four deeply personal songs, each crafted to resonate with listeners on a meaningful level.

“I Hear You Now” pays tribute to Emilee’s grandfather, affectionately known as Papa, who passed away when she was a teenager. Through this heartfelt ballad, Emilee shares the wisdom imparted to her about the importance of never settling in life or love. She hopes this song will inspire others who are navigating the complexities of relationships to hold on to their values and dreams.

“Change Is Coming” emerged during a thunderstorm in Bridgeport, California, a moment that both inspired and reflected Emilee’s own turbulent decision-making process regarding her college path. This song encapsulates her yearning for transformation and aligns with anyone facing significant life choices.

“Glow Getter” reflects her time at Montana State University in Bozeman. Inspired by her roommate Sierra, this vibrant anthem celebrates the drive and ambition to shine in all endeavors. Emilee channels the spirit of perseverance and positivity, encouraging listeners to embrace their inner glow.

“The Messthetics formed in 2016 in Washington, D.C., drawn together by mutual admiration: Pirog had grown up listening to Fugazi, the era-defining post-hardcore band anchored by the rhythm section of Lally and Canty, while the bassist and drummer heard the genre-spanning guitar visionary play around town and took note of his unusually inclusive aesthetic. Pirog had played and bonded with Lewis before the Messthetics formed, and in 2019, he invited the saxophonist — whose massive, soulful sound has made him a star of the contemporary jazz scene — to sit in with the group live. The collaboration blossomed and eventually led to the quartet’s 2024 LP. “

“Based in San Luis Obispo County on California’s beautiful Central Coast, Bitterwater Road is a country music band playing classics from the 1960s through 1990s by artists from Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson to Alan Jackson and George Strait, while also mixing in songs from contemporary artists such as Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers and a few original tunes of the band’s own. The band’s h***y tonkin’ electrified sound draws on California’s proud history in country music (who needs Nashville when Bakersfield is right over the hill?) and is perfect for line dancin’, Western Swing and boot scootin’ of all kinds.”

You might be forgiven for thinking that his work emerged from an earlier time in music. “Nigel Wearne saunters after dark in the music of the night, blending blues, jazz and Americana-noir. Hailing from Gunditjmara country in the deep south of Australia, he’s a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with diverse influences such as Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Rickie Lee Jones.

Nigel has played some of the world’s most prestigious music festivals, including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, MerleFest, Philadelphia Folk Festival, 30A Songwriters Festival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion and the Cambridge Folk Festival (UK).

His sophomore album, ‘Black Crow’ garnered wide critical acclaim including a 4-STAR review in Rolling Stone, a nomination for Best Country Album at the Music Victoria Awards and it debuted at #1 on Australia’s AMRAP Charts.
