Good Morning, All. Yesterday ended with a beautiful moment. Our good friend (and #1 customer?) local artist Mike Lorenz completed an incredible mural on our boarded-up window, turning a bad situation into community art.
We saw a lot of remarks in the comments yesterday suggesting this "looked personal." It is not. We have identified the individual. We do not know him, and he has zero connection to our restaurant or staff. From what we've learned, we believe he is a person with a documented history of targeting various communities and businesses.
But here is the truth we want to focus on: This isn't a personal vendetta, and itโs not just a South Grand problem. It is a systemic one. This is someone who has fallen through the cracks, and we wish them nothing but compassion, help and love. We're hurt, but we understand that this person is hurting as well.
One broken soul will not break our spirit, and it does not define South Grand. For every person trying to tear things down, we know there are a thousand of you ready to help us build it back up.
The glass is being swept. New boards are going up. And yes, we are still open. Come grab a hot dog and say hiโwe could use the smiles today. ๐ค - Steve, Danni, Ike & Crew
