Never Forget. 🇺🇸🕯️

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation, our profession, and our hearts.

Quarter of a century later, the officers and members of Memorial Volunteer Fire Company pause to honor and remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost in New York City, Shanksville, and at the Pentagon.

We pay special tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and 8 EMTs and paramedics who made the ultimate sacrifice that morning. They ran toward danger without hesitation to save others, exemplifying the highest duties of the emergency services.

To our fallen brothers and sisters, to the survivors, and to the families who still carry the weight of that day: We will never forget.

Today and every day, may we honor their memory through our continued dedication to serving and protecting our community.

🦀🔥 What an incredible night at our Annual Crab Feast! 🔥🦀

Yesterday’s event was a massive success, and we couldn't have pulled it off without the incredible support of our community, volunteers, and dedicated partners!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the night run smoothly:

🚒 Bowers Fire Company Inc. — A very special thank you to the crew for standing by in our district during the dinner! Having your engine and members covering our calls allowed our crew to focus on hosting a great event for our community. That's true mutual aid and brotherhood! 🤝

🏦 M & T Bank — for sending out a fantastic group of volunteers to lend a hand throughout the event.

🌊 The Town of Slaughter Beach — for your continued partnership and support of Station 89.

👩‍🚒 Memorial Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary — for working tirelessly behind the scenes (and selling those awesome new Crab Feast shirts!).

🧑‍🚒 Our MVFC Members — who put in countless hours prepping, serving, and making sure everything ran without a hitch.

Most importantly, THANK YOU to everyone who bought a ticket, came out to support us, and cracked some crabs! Every bit of support helps keep Station 89 equipped and ready to serve.
See you all next year! 🦀❤️

Look what dropped by Station 1 for training tonight! 🚁💨

Our volunteers had a fantastic hands-on training session with Delaware State Police Trooper 2 and the Delaware Air Rescue Team (DART) for a State Fire School-certified course.

What we covered tonight:

Helicopter landing zone safety 🦺

Multi-agency rescue protocols 🤝

Hands-on patient loading drills into the aircraft 🏥

A huge thank you to the members from Carlisle Fire Company for coming out to train with us, and to Delaware State Police Aviation Section for flying in to share their expertise.

Every Tuesday night, our crew is putting in the work to ensure we provide the highest level of protection for our community. 🧑‍🚒✨

Summer ready. 🌊☀️

The crew took Marine 89 out tonight for a marine operations refresher before the busy warm-weather season officially kicks off. Keeping our skills sharp ensures we are always ready to protect our local waterways and community.

Being a volunteer means pushing yourself, learning unique skills, and giving back to your neighbors in a big way. 🧑‍🚒⚓
