Was ambitious to want to check out a bunch of restaurants but almost going to none bc work got so busy 😂 ended up checking out .seattle on a whim yesterday and yall this is A GREAT DEAL and the food is so good 😮‍💨 (not sponsored but I also don’t mind being sponsored wink wink)

Swipe to the right-most image for the menu; basically you can pick 3 sides + one rotisserie chicken for $50, and dare I say it’s probably enough for 3 people!!

We got the first 3 items off the menu. The Toppoki has a good chew but the sauce is a bit watery for me, the 💜chicken gizzard was sooooo on point and flavorful and chewy, pairs really well with alcohol or smth fizzy 😏 and I was craving 💜soondae (blood sausage) and it was served with pork liver and ear as well. We got the 💜mala spicy chili chicken and it was soooooo flavorful and stuffed with sticky rice and dates and they really piled on the mala & crispies!!

Run to Golmok before Seattle restaurant week ends May 2 (tmrw!!)

Found an 🤯 insanely good happy hour at at Cap hill the other day 🌮🍹

I rarely drink BUT the Texan in me (after 7 years of living there) awakened suddenly and really really wanted a margarita after a long walk at 3pm so I searched up random HH near me and found Colibri: 3-6pm everyday and everything for about $8! WHAT A STEAL!

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and scratched my itch for a margarita + Mexican food💯 portions were also so so so generous!

💜nachos colibri ($8) + carne asada addition (+$6) was loaded with beans, melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole, onions, tomatoes, and pieces of carne asada that were tender and seared perfectly. Portions were huuuge this could easily feed two

💜tacos de la calle ($8) with carnitas on corn tortillas - these were huge as well and they had nopales (cactus) in them!! A nice surprise and the carnitas were delish! I’d ask specifically for the spicy salsa to sauce it up for the full experience

💜colibri margarita ($8.5) - exactly what I wanted rimmed & tastes weak but feels pretty strong. Got a good buzz going after just one 😂 (or maybe I’m lightweight af)

So worth it, so full, so happy, happy hour is solid ✅

black sesame coffee ($6 reg) is still my fav 💜

Ok so tbh since moving here, I haven’t been feeling super excited about the restaurants I’ve been going to because with the tax + tips, a lot of places just aren’t giving ~good value~ and I can’t bring myself to write about it.

…UNTIL TODAY, a rare day when I parked to get boba from .washington to cure my rainy day blues, looked right, and saw a Chinese barbeque restaurant, Ton Kiang Barbeque Noodle House, right beside me.

I decided to just walk in. Ordered the 3 option bento with crispy roasted pork, roast duck, and cold chicken, with a complimentary clear radish soup, and when she handed me the bag, it was SO HEAVY. It came out to $16.

Y’all, the crispy pork skin was so crispy, the ratio of the meat to fat was great, the chicken was nicely salted and not too salty, and the roast duck was on point too. The rice and the stir fry cabbage are mild and balanced out the more salty meats nicely. 10/10 💜

This girl never gate keeps!! Can’t wait to come back and try more things from the menu!!!!!!!

This week feels like it’s officially the start of soup season, so I randomly found a place on the way to see 🍁fall foliage🍂 and BOOM appears and now has my stomach on a tight leash!!

I really only wanted pho but the menu is so so so extensive and they have not only seafood boils with amazing sounding flavors like tamarind and salty egg but also hotpot with sturgeon(!!) and traditional viet dishes like Chao long tuoi (basically an organ porridge 🤤) on their specials board when you walk in.

I’ll definitely be coming back for the other dishes but for this visit, we went with a 💜large combination pho ($17.99) and a 💜Bo ne, which is steak, egg, pate with bread in a sizzling plate ($19.99) and they were both one of the best versions of it I’ve tasted so far. The broth come piping hot in the stone bowl & the noodles, vegetables, and meats came in a separate bamboo bowl. Presentation on point 🥹🥹 the broth was so flavorful and I inhaled it. So satisfied!!

Bf and I were CRAVING tacos (we miss texas) and we asked around for recommendations on the day and landed at .michoacan 🌮

🅿️Parking: they have a couple spots around the corner but you probably have to find street parking, a little difficult to find and you may have to wander in the neighborhood, but that doesn’t deter us from going again

We got the Al pastor, lengua, and tripas tacos ($3.79 per taco) - my fav were the 💜tripas! Could be a little more crispy but I’m also really particular 🤣 still hits the spot 100% and they got a full salsa bar and a great array of condiments as pictured. Tortillas were yummy toooo I think they’re homemade.

Next time def need to come back for the carnitas since I it’s in their store name!!

P.S. still taking taco recommendations - Mexican street tacos plz ty 🙏

Thai tea fix in Bellevue with a twist! 🧋
has Thai tea with adjustable sweetness AND you can add a cream top or even a Thai tea or ube soft serve on top!

I got the 💜Thai tea with Thai tea soft serve 25% sweetness with boba & the 💜Thai green tea latte with the cream top 50% sweetness with boba and I’d say the Thai teas themselves are pretty solid but I’d skip the boba bc of the chew & they stick together maybe because I’m a slow drink drinker so it gets stuck in the straw (and then u might spill some on your white shirt trying to get it out if u are clumsy but ambitious to get every drop like me) 🤪

After the Thai tea soft serve melts into the drink, it makes the drink more sweet and creamy, so I think 25% is ideal (it’s also still pretty sweet for someone like me who orders 0% at boba shops and gets sweetness off of the sweetness from the tapioca pearls 🤣).

Thai-chinese food?! 🥵

has a surprisingly expansive menu and the vibe is amazing! they even have these little couple seats near the front of the restaurant that could be a great option for a romantic lil date 💕 they have a paid parking lot & also paid street parking.

💜mama tom yum hotpot with crispy pork belly and minced pork ($20): surprisingly good value for a shareable hot pot - it has instant noodles in a creamy tom yum soup base with eggs, cilantro, and straw mushrooms with generous amounts of the selected protein. Super appetizing, great flavor, and pairs well with white rice 🤤

💜Chinese black olive green beans ($18): we were like “what is Chinese black olive” and wanted to try it but ended up not recognizing the taste in the dish either lmao but regardless they were like good Chinese style garlic green beans!

- Golden 4 corners ($15): has daikon cake, taro cake like in dimsum places, crispy tofu like those you get in stir fries, and corn fritters that were battered a lil thick and dry served with a sweet & spicy plum sauce. I loved the daikon + taro cake but the others I probably wouldn’t order again.

🥺overall will def make my way back to try the specialty noodles and salads and so many other dishes!

Just here to tell u that u needa burger
at located at Fremont

And if you like lamb and don’t mind the gamey taste, then you MUST try the 💜lamb burger ($17.50) with the pickled peppers, mahon, arugula, cured lemon, and chermoula sauce (trust me idk what some of these words are either) but i had this burger maybe 7 years ago and it was one of those life changing moments and im back and it still tastes as good as I remember it to be 😭💕 aromatic, meaty, a little bitter and tart from the tempura lemon that cuts through the rich sauces - so yummy.

The bf got the blue onion with added tomato and egg and sweet potato fries. I inhaled my own burger so I don’t really remember the taste on that one but it looks appetizing af. The 💜sweet potato fries ($4.75) were perfect too with the truffle mayo ($0.75) sauce. Garden salad ($8 for large) was fresh but the dressing lacked saltiness and acidity for me, but a salt packet fixed it.

Parking: they have maybe 2-3 designated parking spots in front but there’s also street parking! Not too bad!
