Another Saturday in the books, and our hearts are full!

One of the sweetest surprises of this bakery journey has been the people we’ve met along the way. Familiar faces who come back week after week, new friends stopping by for their very first loaf, and neighbors who tell their neighbors about us. 🥹

Those little moments mean so much.

We’re still learning, growing, and figuring things out as we go, but one thing we’re certain of- we’re blessed to be part of such wonderful communities.

Thank you for making room for our little family bakery in your weekends and on your tables. We never take that for granted. 🍞💛

🍞 SHHH… It Happens! 🤭

Even experienced bakers have those days when the dough just doesn’t cooperate!

We started with a new batch of flour this week, and something wasn’t quite right. Despite our best efforts, this morning’s loaves didn’t rise the way they should. And if there’s one thing we won’t compromise on, it’s the quality of bread we share with our neighbors. ❤️

Unfortunately, that means our Fresh4Less delivery will be delayed by one day. We’re so sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience!

The good news? Our dough for Saturday’s markets is looking strong! 💪🍞

Thanks for sticking with us through the occasional baking hiccup. We’re only human, and sometimes even sourdough likes to keep us humble! 🥰

🥖🍞✨ BEHIND THE BREAD | Not All Sourdough Looks Alike!

When most people picture sourdough, they imagine a beautiful round artisan loaf (called a boule) with a thick, crackly crust and big, airy holes inside.

And we love that kind of bread! But here at The Sourdough Smith, we do things a little differently. 🧡

Our sourdough is baked sandwich-style, with a softer crust, a tender texture, and a closer-knit crumb (that’s baker talk for smaller, more even holes!).

Why? Because we wanted to make sourdough that fits right into everyday family life.

🥪 Slices that hold your sandwich fillings instead of letting them fall through.

🍞 Soft enough for little hands and everyday lunches.

🧈 Perfect for toast, grilled cheese, French toast, or simply a warm slice with butter.

We also add a little honey and olive oil to our dough, helping create that soft, tender texture our customers have come to love.

Same wonderful sourdough fermentation, just a different style of loaf! Both have their place at the table. ❤️

Around here, we like to call ours sourdough. Made for real life, real families, and sharing good bread with the people you love.
