When our family started on this journey, we decided to start small, keep it simple, and not go into a lot of debt doing it.
I have been fascinated with all things food since I could pull the k**b on the T.V. and Julia Child would fill the screen and invite me into her kitchen.
We started with drinks and desserts, which was fun. Then we branched out to craft dogs and that was fun too. We were able to be really creative with that, and created some delicious menu items.
But... anyone that knows me can tell you that when I discover a delicious new dish or make an old favorite, I want to share it with everyone. I also don't want our kids to eat so many hot dogs πWe had planned earlier in the year as we were booking events to keep July open to do a thorough review of what we had done so far. We put our heads together as a family to decide whether to proceed as is, make some changes, or get out. Well, we're in! So now instead of Old Time Treats we are Reds' Bistro!
We also have a new commissary in the works. Electric and plumbing are going in now! Once it is completed and passes inspection, we will be able to put our own USDA inspected meat from our own farm on the menu!
Our first event is next Saturday, August 9th at Meramec Spring park for the One Way Traffic concert. we are so excited to be back there! It is truly a state treasure.
We will be serving up Croque Monsieur, A muffaletta sandwich, a duck a l'orange hot link on a toasted french roll, garlic parmesan roasted potatoes and a delicious pasta salad! We hope to see you there! We put an emphasis on quality ingredients. And European butter. And cheese. I'm sure you can see where we're headed with this!
