the cosmos is doing its thing this week.

the autumnal equinox, when the sun crosses the celestial equator heading south, occurs on tuesday. day and night become (almost) equal. it is the astronomical event that marks the start of autumn.
the harvest moon, named for the fact that it appears in the early evening and provides strong moonlight, which has historically been useful for harvesting farmers' summer-grown crops, rises on saturday.

and, well, we're doing our thing this week, too. we are closed monday, tuesday, and wednesday, rising on thursday. see you then.

available now!
mary oliver’s 'dog songs' is a celebration of the special bond between human and dog, as understood through the poet’s relationships to the canines that have accompanied her daily walks, warmed her home, and inspired her work. oliver’s poems begin in the small everyday moments familiar to all dog lovers, but through her extraordinary vision, these observations become higher meditations on the world and our place in it.

you know we love our dogs and we know you love yours!

open till 4p. see you soon.
