Being trusted with a wedding cake is always an honor, but this one meant something even more special to me.
For two dear friends and a truly beautiful couple, I had the joy of creating a three-tier hummingbird cake with cream cheese frosting, finished with whimsical, storybook piping and decorated with sea holly, asters, chamomile, dehydrated pineapple stars, orange slices, and fresh strawberries. It felt like something straight out of a woodland fairytale — wild, romantic, and a little bit magical.
Alongside it was a heart-shaped lemon cake with raspberry compote and cream cheese frosting, finished with vintage piping and raspberry details meant to resemble little alien eggs, topped with the most incredible handmade cake toppers the couple created themselves — aliens inspired by Alien as the bride and groom. Equal parts whimsical, weird, and wonderfully them.
Watching two people you care about celebrate their love is already so special, but being trusted to create something for such an important day made it even more meaningful. I poured so much love into these cakes, and getting to be even a small part of their celebration means more to me than I can put into words.
I’m endlessly grateful for the chance to help make their day a little sweeter. Wishing this beautiful couple a lifetime of adventure, magic, and love. 🤍✨
