Sprouts VS. Microgreens
Microgreens and sprouts often get mixed up, but they’re actually quite different 🌱
Sprouts are grown in water and eaten whole — seed, root, and all — usually within just a few days. Microgreens, on the other hand, are grown in soil or a growing medium, with light, and are harvested after they’ve developed their first true leaves.
That extra time and growing method gives microgreens a deeper flavor, more texture, and a wider range of nutrients. Plus, you’re only eating the tender stems and leaves — not the root system.
Both are fresh, both are healthy, but microgreens bring a little more structure, flavor, and versatility to the plate.
