TONIGHT!!!! Upstairs in the gallery

Make plans to join us at Locals Farm Market this Wednesday, October 14, from 5–7 PM for an evening of live music, art, and dinner!

Jenny Wilson, whose solo exhibition Into the Light is currently on view in the Artist in the House Gallery, will be performing live alongside her husband, Nathan Wilson. It’s a chance to experience Jenny’s creativity through both her paintings and her music.

Into the Light explores the relationship between light, shadow, and the natural world through expressive abstract landscapes rich in color, texture, and emotion. The exhibition is on view through October 25, so there’s still time to stop by and experience it for yourself.

Come enjoy the music, explore the gallery, grab some dinner, and spend an evening connecting with art and community. We hope to see you there!

Take a pause and visit the Dash

There’s a little more time to see Austin’s work!

When we first welcomed Austin Dickey’s photography to Riverworks at Locals, we knew we were making space for something meaningful. What we didn’t know was just how deeply this exhibit would resonate with the people who walked through the doors.

So many of you have stopped to look. You’ve shared Austin’s photographs. You’ve asked questions. You’ve purchased his work. You’ve started conversations. And because of that incredible response, Austin’s exhibit has been extended for one more week.

Even more meaningful, the matching gift has been extended, too. Every Austin print purchased during this additional week will continue to be matched, doubling its impact and supporting the Austin Dickey Creativity in Advocacy Fund.

At last week’s Dinner for the Arts, Austin’s mother shared his story and spoke about the importance of having his work seen. We are incredibly honored that Riverworks and Locals could be a place where Austin’s photography continues to reach people and where his story can help open important conversations about su***de prevention and mental health.

There is still time to experience the exhibit!

Come by Riverworks at Locals. Have a coffee. Take a moment. Look closely. Let Austin’s photographs show you some of the beauty he saw in the world.

Support the arts! Visit the studios on the Countryside Artisans Fall Tour: October 2-4, 10-5!

The Countryside Artisans of Maryland represents a selected group of accomplished visual, sculptural, and textile artists working in oil, pastel, watercolor, pencil, ceramics, porcelain, glass, enamel, stone, wood, yarn, textiles, photography, tea, hops and grapes. The Countryside Artisans jointly open their galleries and studios located in historic, rural Montgomery, Howard and Frederick Counties for three art tours each year in April, October and December: The tour is self-guided, in which customers visit with artists in their studios, learn about the process of making art, and hopefully, make many purchases.
