This weekend is significant for so many reasons..
personal, professional, & as a collective.
Just over a year ago I officially put this dream on paper. It existed long before then, but it took a series of “misfortunate” events to finally kick my a$$ enough to take action. Misfortunate is in quotations because looking back on it, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
That said, no plan survives first contact, at least that’s what we were always taught. & By the looks of this pdf, that holds true. Full disclosure, the original vision was not a cafe.. but as we continued down this path, it became clear that a cafe was essential in bringing Mountain Mermaid to life.
You see, cafes are community hubs by default. They’re woven into the rhythm of everyday life. It’s the place you stop on your way to work, where you start your morning, spend your lunch break, meet an old friend, sit down with someone new, or have a moment to yourself to clear the head.
I’d like to think that if Mountain Mermaid had existed 251 years ago, a few revolutionaries might have pulled up a chair, ordered something to fuel the mind & body, then started drafting their plans for freedom. 🇺🇸☕️
