Why is it that the minute you start planning your wedding, everybody has an opinion? 😩

Who should be invited.

Where you should get married.

What traditions you should keep.

How much you should spend.

What you should wear.

The list goes on.

And before you know it, you're no longer planning a wedding. Instead, you're trying to please everybody else.

So, a little advice from your officiant:

Listen to the people you trust.

Ask for advice when you need it.

But remember, this is your day. You don't need anyone else's permission or approval to do it the way you want to do it. ❤️

The weather definitely tried us... but we made it out to AC, and I got to do what I do best. ❤️

Getting to meet couples, hearing a little bit about what they're planning, answering their questions, and talking about what they want their ceremony experience to feel like.

Plus, getting to connect with other people in the wedding industry who are just as passionate about what they do... that's always a bonus.

Thank you Joe, Lori, and the entire PlanIt Expo team for continuing to create spaces like this for couples and wedding professionals to come together.

Today was exactly what I hoped it would be. ❤️

Yes, we talked business. We shared ideas, talked about what we’re building, and even some of the challenges that come with it.

But more than anything, we got to know each other.

We connected. We poured into one another. And for a few hours, it wasn’t about titles, businesses, or who does what. It was just women sitting around a table, sharing real conversation and enjoying a moment between sistahs. 🥂

I’m so grateful for every woman who showed up and shared her time, her energy, and a little bit of herself with us today. This is what community is supposed to feel like. ❤️

And a huge thank you to Sabrina’s Cafe in Wynnewood for taking such good care of us! Geno, thank you for welcoming us into your space, and Aaron, thank you for the amazing service. You both helped make our Chat & Chew that much better.

Here’s to new connections, new relationships, and seeing what grows from the conversations we started around that table today. 🥂

Marriage isn't easy, and neither is planning the ceremony.

Let's be honest. Everybody focuses on how everybody looks, the music cue, the doors opening, the flowers, the walk down the aisle. And all of that matters, and it should.

But what about those sixty seconds before the music starts? Just quiet. Just stillness. The space, the guests sitting there, waiting.

That part matters too. And it's exactly the kind of thing you want an officiant thinking about — not just the big obvious moments, but the ones nobody talks about until you're standing in them.
