One disappointing “vegan option.”

Suddenly, the whole category is guilty.

That’s a tough first impression to undo. But it’s also why we love handing someone food they didn’t expect to enjoy.

Some days, “we had to cancel” leaves a hell of a lot unsaid.

Yesterday, on our way to Swamp Head, our truck and trailer nearly flipped on the interstate. Everything in the trailer—including the refrigerator’s contents—ended up on the floor.

That followed Saturday’s flooded-out Viera market on our DBH Hummus Company side. It’s been a week from hell.

We posted about yesterday already, so we won’t make this another play-by-play. But we’re people behind this business, and pretending none of it happened wouldn’t feel right. Thank you for checking on us, and more importantly, thank you for understanding.

No food truck events this week, but we’re looking forward to seeing our Brevard friends through DBH Hummus Company:

Our truck and trailer almost flipped on the way to Swamp Head Brewery thanks to wind and traffic. When we got here, we opened the door to literally see everything on the floor, including our refrigerator, and we're absolutely screwed. This is a 1st and we apologize. This week can truly F'off! At least we're safe and we'll leave it at that.

🖤☠️❤️ We have a serious problem with boring food, which probably explains why we built an entire food truck around doing things differently!

We're talking Birria Pork Pitadillas, Loaded Pita Fries, our infamous Not A Gyro, and That Chocolate Thing you probably shouldn't share. Everything we do is about taking familiar ingredients and turning them into something you wouldn't expect from a hummus truck.
And this Sunday, we're bringing it all back to Gainesville!

We're rolling into Broad Street Brewing Company tomorrow, October 10th, for a Night Market that's got a little bit of everything. And considering there's a costume contest, spooky art, and oddities involved, we're thinking our food truck will fit right in. 😂

Come check out the local artists, artisans, and vendors, explore the spooky artwork inside the brewery, enjoy some live music, grab a cold b**r, and see what everyone's wearing for the costume contest!

And when you're hungry? We've got you covered.

🖤☠️❤️ GAINESVILLE, WE'RE HEADED BACK TO SWAMP HEAD THIS SUNDAY!

After a week of rain, we're more than ready to get back out there and feed some people!

We're bringing the full Death By: Hummuscide menu, including our Not A Gyro, Loaded Pita Fries, Birria Pork Pitadillas, and That Chocolate Thing. If you've had our food before, you know we don't exactly follow the traditional hummus playbook.

We're keeping an eye on the local weather, but we're still planning to be there as scheduled. If anything changes, we'll let you know.

We really need to post the fact that we need help in more ways than one, especially when it comes to bigger events, but it's never worked so we have zero expectations yet again.

Long story short, we need help in Gainesville October 24th & 31st taking orders and representing our food truck front of house.

Brandi was going to be front and center taking orders, talking to everyone, and being the sweet, bubbly, outgoing badass she is, but we've hit some rough obstacles with her mom's recovery and she won't be able to make it now and that absolutely sucks.

If you've been following us for a while, you know we've been through the ringer with family health issues behind the scenes, and here's another one staring us in the face. 2 hands can only do so much, and God bless Sarah for always showing up for us over the last year.

So if you're already familiar with our food truck and vision, you're great with people, you prioritize healthy food in your life, you can stand for 8+ hrs, you can keep a smile nonstop while working in a fast paced environment, and you're a quick learner, please reach out ASAP.
