Join us at the Ritual Bar for complimentary sips of our cold-brewed Kukicha Genmaicha, green tea stems with puffed brown rice.

Matchaful Ritual Bar · 92 Berry St, Brooklyn

With matcha, the tender leaves of the tencha plant are carefully separated from the stems and veins before being stone-ground into matcha. But those stems don’t go to waste, they become kukicha, a beautifully light and refreshing Japanese tea.

Tribeca, we’re finally here.

Tomorrow at 8am, we’re opening the doors to our newest Matchaful at 350 Greenwich St. We’ve been working on this space for a long time, and we’re so excited to finally become part of this neighborhood.

And of course, Tribeca gets a matcha of its own. Meet the Tribeca Tropic: Kiwami Super Ceremonial Matcha with passionfruit, Madagascan vanilla bean, tocos, maple, beet sugar, and coconut milk. Available exclusively at our Tribeca café.

This is just the beginning. We’re planning a bigger opening celebration for September 10th with a few surprises we’ll be sharing soon.

Doors open tomorrow at 8am. Come say hi 💚

We had the best time popping up at Jalen Brunson’s Charity Golf Classic in support of Second Round Foundation and its mission to create opportunities for young people through education, sport, and community. So grateful to be a small part of such a special day.

The star of our new Ritual Bar menu: Crown Melon Matcha. 🍈

Inspired by Japan’s iconic melon soda and our recent visit to the Crown Melon greenhouses in Shizuoka, just 30 minutes from where our matcha is grown.

We worked closely with their team to source an upcycled, pure Crown Melon purée made from cosmetically imperfect melons that would otherwise go unused.

Made with cold-whisked Gokou matcha, coconut whip, and tart cherry powder.

For the first time since we opened, A2 dairy milk is coming to our menu. This was a big decision and one we wanted to be thoughtful about, from sourcing to ensuring plant-based and dairy drink preparation remains fully separate in cafés.

After months of searching, we found .dairy, a local dairy farm that aligns with our core values and intentionality.

A letter from our founder and CEO on this change.

No two matcha powders are the same. One difference comes down to something most people have never heard of: the cultivar. We’re breaking down what single-cultivar matcha actually means, why it matters, and how it shapes the flavor, aroma, and color in your cup. Latest in our Spilling the Tea series on the blog at the link in bio.

In Japan, late spring is called tsuyu — the rainy season that softens everything just before summer arrives. We made a drink for that in-between feeling.
Organic plum juice, sparkling water, and a scoop of our Hikari matcha. Bright, a little floral, and simple to make at home.

Full recipe on the blog — link in bio.

The secret ingredient is actually the soil. Our matcha comes from Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan — a region that has quietly, consistently produced more tea than anywhere else in the country for decades. We wrote about it on the blog. Link in bio.
