ذهبت امرأة مُسِنّة لتنظيف بئرٍ مهجور في مزرعة… فوجدت سُلماً لم يكن من المفترض أن يراه أحد.
في عام 1898، كانت ماريا داس دوريس فيريرا — أرملة في الثالثة والستين — قد خسرت كل شيء. مات زوجها قبل عامين، وبِيع منزلها الصغير لسداد الديون، وتفرّق أبناؤها الثلاثة في الجنوب، كلٌّ يبحث عن رزقه دون قدرة على مساعدتها. بقيت ماريا وحيدة، مُنهكة، لا تملك إلا قوت يومها، فقبلت أي عمل يُعرض عليها في مزارع منطقة ميناس جيرايس، حتى تلك التي كان الرجال أنفسهم يرفضونها.
كانت مزرعة سانتا ريتا — التي امتلكتها سابقًا عائلة "مينديز" — تحت إدارة جواكيم مينديز دا سيلفا، رجل في الثامنة والخمسين، أرمل منذ خمس سنوات. ورغم صرامته، كان معروفًا بعدله، ودفعه للأجور في وقتها، وابتعاده عن ظلم العمّال… لكنّه كان يحب العُزلة ولا يقترب منه أحد إلا للضرورة.
على طرف المزرعة، قرب الغابة، كان يقبع بئرٌ قديم مهجور. يقول الناس إنه ملعون؛ فقبل عقود، غرق فيه عبد، وزعم العمّال أنهم يسمعون أنينًا يخرج منه ليلًا. كان البئر مُغطّى بألواح خشبية عتيقة وغير مستخدم منذ زمن بعيد.
لكن ماريا لم تكن تؤمن باللعنات. الجوع والبرد بالنسبة إليها كانا أشدّ رعبًا من أي أسطورة. كانت قد وصلت المزرعة قبل ثلاثة أيام فقط، ولم تكن تتوقع أن يطلب منها جواكيم ما طلبه في صباح اليوم الثالث…
اقترب منها وقال بصوته العميق:
"هناك بئرٌ عند حدود الغابة. أريدكِ أن تُنظّفي حوله وترَي إن كان يصلُح للاستخدام. وإن أنجزتِ عملك جيدًا… سأدفع لكِ أجرًا إضافيًا."
كانت كلمة “إضافي” كالموسيقى في أذنيها. حملت أدواتها وسارت نحو المكان. كان البئر مصنوعًا من حجارة محكمة، لكن الأعشاب طغت عليه، والألواح التي تغطيه كانت شبه متآكلة. استغرق منها الأمر ثلاث ساعات كاملة لتطهير المكان.
ولما انتهت، اقتربت من الحافة ونظرت إلى الأسفل… كان ظلامًا عميقًا رطبًا كأن الأرض تبتلع الضوء. رمت حجرًا، فسمعت ارتطامه بالماء بعد ثوانٍ طويلة.
وترددت… لكن الحاجة دفعتها لاتخاذ قرار جريء.
ربطت حبلًا سميكًا بجذع شجرة، وثبّتت مصباحًا زيتيًا في خصرها، وأسلمت أمرها لله، ثم بدأت بالنزول. كان الحبل يحرق يديها المتشققتين، وذراعَاها ترتجفان من الجهد.
نزلت قرابة عشرين مترًا… حتى لامست قدماها شيئًا صلبًا.
لم يكن ماءً.
كان حجرًا — منصة صغيرة بُنِيت عمدًا داخل البئر.
وعلى جانب الحائط الحجري… كانت هناك فتحة تؤدي إلى ممر ضيق، يفضي إلى درج محفور في الصخر، يهبط إلى ظلامٍ أشدّ من ظلام البئر نفسه.
وقف قلبها بين الخوف والفضول. رفعت المصباح فرأت على أول درجة كلمات منقوشة:
"من ينزل… يتحمّل ثِقْل السر."
ترددت لحظة، لكنها فكّرت:
“بعد كل ما مررتُ به… ما الذي بقي لأخافه؟”
ثم وضعت قدمها على الدرجة الأولى.
نزلت خمسين درجة حتى وصلت أرضًا مستوية. رفعت المصباح، فانكشف أمامها ممر تحت الأرض ينتهي بحجرة كبيرة منحوتة في الصخر. في وسطها صندوق خشبي ضخم مغلق بقفل صدئ، وبجانبه صندوق صغير، وعلى الأرض أكوام من الأوراق الصفراء المتناثرة…
في تلك اللحظة أدركت ماريا أن ما وجدته… ليس مجرد بئر مهجور.
إنه سر دفنته عائلة كاملة طوال عشرات السنين.
وما ستكتشفه بعد لحظات…
سيُغيّر مصير المزرعة إلى الأبد.

This is again, hubby Sissy with Episode 2 of his story.
Episode 2:
"After the meal, my daughter, her child, her husband, and my wife left for an evening out without asking me to join. I didn't take it personally and soon fell asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible headache and soon thought of high blood pressure. Indeed, my blood pressure monitor showed an alarming reading that recommended taking an extra pill. That brought me some relief. I went back to sleep and then woke up again at bursts of laughter coming from the sitting room. It was my wife and Adoula exchanging jokes and making fun of me snoring. In addition, I was feeling pain from heartburn due to the AMOUNT OF HOT SPICES ADOULA AND MY WIFE PUT IN THE FOOD.
"Hey, move into the other bedroom; your snoring won't let me sleep," my wife screamed at me and pushed me out of bed.
"I'm in pain because of dinner and had had high blood pressure readings," I begged her to stop pushing me but she went on pushing till I moved into an adjoining room.
I could then hear whispers and sighs from the room I had been in and I suspect that Adoula left his wife and the child fast asleep and joined my wife and that might explain the whispers and the sighs because they didn't want my daughter to hear what was going on.
Pain and ill comfort prevented me from falling back to sleep. Moans and sighs multiplied and became slightly louder signaling perhaps or***ms and mutual s*xual satisfaction involving my wife and her son-in-law. I just kept quiet trying to resume sleep."

I am married to a woman who is ten years younger than me, now her fifties. She is beautiful, seductive, and coquettish. I am unable to keep up with her s*xual needs and I am quite certain she has had extramarital s*xual affairs without telling me. I didn't want to be inquisitive or nosy and threw the blame on myself as having had a poor performance in bed.
I did feel slightly concerned when I suspected she had an eye for my father whom she had always praised for his manhood and virility comparing me to inadequately clumsy and effeminate. I haven't sought confrontation or self-defense. There again I was pretty sure she had him in bed several times and may have given her a baby who is now bearing my name..
My dad passed away recently and I started suspecting my wife has changed direction and her praise of masculinity has shifted to her sons-in-law once more she keeps hinting at their high s*x drive without telling me how she has come to know it.
I am peaceful in my upbringing and tend to avoid conflicts, especially with my life partner. I do however need to explode at times and feel the need to talk about it and share my ill feelings with others and that is my intention to do on this page from now onwards.
