As we remember D-Day, we’re thinking about our founder, Melvin Bessinger.

At 21 years old, he landed on the beaches of Normandy for D-Day +2. He survived combat, spent 10 months as a POW, escaped captivity, and still found his way home despite incredible odds.

A lot of people knew him for the BBQ, but we knew him as Dad, Papa, and the guy who never met a stranger.

We’re grateful for his service, his sacrifice, and the life he built when he came home.

Thinking of him today, and of all the heroes who fought for our freedom. 🇺🇸
