It’s easy to look at a business with limited hours and assume there must not be that much going on behind the scenes.
We’re only open Thursday thru Sunday, right? And we’re not even open all day on those days.
But what you don’t always see is just how many hours go into making those limited hours possible, and how much of that work is handled directly by the owners.
From the outside, it’s easy to think, “Why don’t you just hire someone to do that?”
And honestly, sometimes we wish it were that simple.
Our employees are incredible, and they understand our vision and what we expect extremely well. But there are certain parts of a small business that ownership simply has to stay heavily involved in.
Not because we don’t trust our employees.
Not because we think we can do everything better.
But because at the end of the day, nobody will ever care about the business, understand the vision, or obsess over the little details quite like the people who built it.
There are things we could absolutely hire someone else to handle.
But there are also things where, if I’m being completely honest, I know I wouldn’t be satisfied unless I had my hands on it myself.
And that’s just the truth.
So yes, we’re only open Thursday thru Sunday.
But I promise you, on the days and during the hours that you don’t see us operating, there is still a LOT happening behind the scenes.
Planning. Preparing. Fixing. Cleaning. Creating. Ordering. Maintaining. Thinking. Re-thinking. And probably overthinking.
All with the goal of making those few hours we are open as good of an experience as we can possibly give you.
Limited hours doesn’t mean limited work.
A lot of love, time, and probably an unhealthy amount of attention to detail goes into those hours you see.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
