Today was a day we'll never forget.
To everyone who came to celebrate Red River Communications' 75th Anniversary with us—thank you. Thank you for spending your day with us, standing in line, showing patience, sharing smiles, and helping us celebrate 75 years of serving our communities.
We also want to again apologize that the event had to end earlier than planned. As temperatures continued to rise and conditions became more challenging, the safety of our guests, employees, volunteers, and food truck partners had to come first. While this wasn't the ending we envisioned, it was the right decision.
Planning a free community event of this size is never easy, and we truly did our best to prepare for as many guests as possible. The incredible turnout exceeded our expectations, and we're disappointed that not everyone enjoyed their free food truck meal. Our team has already discussed a plan to make things right for those who were unable to redeem their meal vouchers. We'll share more information soon.
We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Wahpeton Police Department, the Wahpeton/Breckenridge Ambulance Service, and the many community volunteers who immediately stepped in to assist guests who became overwhelmed by the heat. Your compassion, professionalism, and willingness to help made a tremendous difference, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.
A special thank you to the amazing team at Chahinkapa Zoo, our incredible food truck partners, and every Red River employee and volunteer who gave everything they had today—keeping guests hydrated, answering questions, handing out water, and doing everything possible to make this celebration a success under very difficult conditions.
Most of all, thank you to our members, customers, and communities. Your support over the past 75 years is why we were celebrating today, and we're grateful beyond words.
