MEET OUR TEAM
Name: Lily
Position: Host
Lily grew up on her family’s hobby farm in St. Joseph, MN, with her parents and older sister, Evalin, who also happens to be part of the Bûcheron team! Her fondest memories growing up are days spent gardening with her mom in the sprawling perennial beds, helping her grandmother next door in the vegetable gardens, and exploring the fields and woods that surrounded their home. Lily describes growing up on the farm as “pure magic,” a balance of hard work and wonder. There were rocks to pick, wood to stack, and animals to tend, but also endless hours to wander through gardens and soak in the beauty of nature. One of her earliest memories is of her mom “planting” her feet in the soil and watering her to make her grow.
Lily’s first job was cleaning cabins on the Horseshoe Chain of Lakes in Richmond, MN. Throughout her teenage years, Lily enjoyed making memories with friends, nourishing her creative side, and becoming a history buff. After graduating high school, she moved to Asheville, NC, and began her studies at UNC Asheville majoring in social studies education and minoring in French. She ended her studies with an AAS in business management. After a brief move back home, Lily pivoted towards her true passion and purpose in life working with the land. She moved to Lakewood, Colorado to study Horticulture and Landscape Technologies. She also began working at a special shop called Swiss Flower that cultivated her skills for floral design.
Today, Lily lives in South Minneapolis with her fiance, Michael. Her main focus is now building her free-lance floral business, LILLUMS FLORAL, where she creates beautiful floral designs for events and weddings. She also began working part time at Bûcheron, where you’ll find her at the host stand a couple of nights each week taking pride in giving guests a gracious welcome at the start of their evening and a warm, thoughtful send‑off as they depart. You’ll also see her summer bouquets gracing our bar, and dried bouquets as we move into the winter months.
