The first 15 minutes of my day used to look a lot different.

Before my feet even hit the floor, I was already thinking about work. What needed done. Who needed me. What problem I had to solve next. My heart would race knowing that my entire day would be all about what every else wanted from me.

After heart surgery, I couldn't move at the pace I was used to. It forced me to slow down.

I think our mornings tell us a lot about how we're doing. If the first thing we do is rush, worry, scroll, react, or start taking care of everyone else, we're often carrying that feeling with us for the rest of the day.

These days, I don't need a perfect morning routine. I just need a rhythm that reminds me that my life is meant to be lived, not simply managed.

And most mornings, that starts with a cup of tea and a few quiet moments in my garden.

Thank you to Ohio Living Breckenridge Village for giving me this opportunity to about the journey that changed my life—from caregiving and loss to heart surgery and discovering a new rhythm for living.❤️

My hope is that by sharing my story, I can inspire others who may be facing their own challenges to keep moving forward and trust that brighter days are ahead.
