This Black History Month, we honor the legendary Chef Leah Chase—the “Queen of Creole Cuisine.”

As the heart and soul behind the iconic Dooky Chase’s Restaurant in New Orleans, Chef Chase fed generations of families, presidents, and civil rights leaders. Her dining room became a safe meeting place during the Civil Rights Movement, proving that food can nourish both the body and the community.

Black culinary history is American culinary history.

Edna Lewis taught the world that Southern cooking is elegant, intentional, and deeply rooted in Black culture. Long before “farm-to-table” was a trend, she was living it—honoring seasonal ingredients, ancestral knowledge, and the beauty of simplicity.

We celebrate her legacy and the countless Black hands that shaped the way we eat today.

The Kitchen Guru Catering Co. presents our 6th Annual Thanksgiving Feeding!
We are honored to serve our community once again with a warm, chef-prepared holiday meal for those in need. This annual tradition is one of our most meaningful days of service, and we invite you to join us in spreading love, comfort, and gratitude this season.

🕒 Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Location: 280 Tillman Street, Memphis, TN 38112

Our doors will be open to anyone who could benefit from a fresh, hearty Thanksgiving meal. Meals will be served on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
