The storms rolled through Southport this morning, but that ain't slowing down Smoke Show and her sister! 💥 They've laced up, the weather's clearing, and they're getting ready to hit the streets for the Freedom Run 5K! 🇺🇸❤️

Meanwhile, Fat Man's cheering them on from the sidelines... and let's be honest... making sure there's some good food waiting at the finish line! 🍖😂

🐷🍑 Good news... Fat Man found TWO more pork bellies, so our Spicy Peach Pork Belly Burnt Ends are back for lunch while they last!

🍌 Smoke Show snuck away for a bit, so Fat Man handled dessert and whipped up a fresh batch of homemade banana pudding. 🤣

What a start to 2026 it's been. Packed lunch rushes, sold-out Saturdays, catering events, fundraisers, Brews & Q, and a whole lot of great memories. None of it happens without the incredible support you've shown The Pig Pin.

This Saturday we'll close the doors for our annual summer break and give this crew a well-deserved chance to recharge before reopening July 8th.

We've still got one more week to sling brisket, smoke wings, serve BBQ sammiches, and have some fun.

From Fat Man, Smoke Show, Alyssa, OG Mark, James, Mark, and the entire Pig Pin crew—thank you for helping make the first half of 2026 one we'll never forget.

One quick note: they're doing construction in front of the shopping center, but we're OPEN! Please enter our parking lot from Washington Street. We greatly appreciate your patience and support while the work is being completed.

Fat Man thought he was gonna sit down and get a little work done for the week...

Then that severe thunderstorm rolled through.

Suddenly Lola, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, decided the office chair was the safest place in North Carolina and claimed the co-pilot seat. Meanwhile, Phoebe, the yellow lab, took shelter under Fat Man's chair just to make sure he couldn't escape. 😂

So there I sat, trying to answer emails and plan the week with one dog glued to my side and another parked under my feet. Apparently, when the thunder starts rolling, Fat Man's most important job title isn't pitmaster, caterer, or retired software developer...

It's Thunder Buddy.

The storm has passed, everyone's doing fine, and Fat Man's office is once again open for business—assuming Lola and Phoebe approve. ❤️🐕🐕

Happy Father's Day from Fat Man!

I've gotta say, this may have been the best Father's Day yet.

The weekend started with Bailee and Alyssa having the windows tinted on my F-250 while Smoke Show got me a bed cover for that 8-foot bed. For the first time in my life, I've got a bed that never has to be made!

Not long after, I got a call from my favorite son and his fiancée wishing me a Happy Father's Day while I was headed to the range. This was the perfect start to a great afternoon.

Then it was time to do what I love—send a few rounds down range. The old rifle was cooperating today, and I was doing pretty darn good on that 300-yard mark. Nothing fancy, just a little sunshine, some fresh air, and the sweet sound of steel ringing in the distance.

To cap off the day, we fired up the grill and threw on a couple of 2-inch-thick Kenyon's ribeyes. Good steaks, a sharp-looking truck, time at the range, and family all around.

Family, freedom, good food, and a little trigger time. That's about as good as it gets for this fat man.

Hope all the dads out there had a fantastic Father's Day. What was the best part of yours?

Well folks… y’all have been hungry today! 🤣
