After a lot of discussion and consideration, we have made the choice to down size our flocks for the time being. We will still be offering table eggs for eating and the occasional hatches from silkies. But our kids are starting to get into after school activities, sports, and with the recent loss of our loving dog Elsa today, we have chosen to step back, and make room for ourselves to not be stretched so thin allowing us to press that pause button more frequently to soak up these days before our kids are grown.

With that being said, be on the look out on our page for the birds who will be flying the coop if you’re interested.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we navigate this new season for our family and figure out what works best for us right now.

Actual footage of what it’s been like completing chicken chores with all this rain.

Anyone have an ETA on that arc being done alongside I68? For now I guess we will keep practicing walking 2 by 2….

While we anxiously await some of these new babies to hatch..

Ohhh the excitement when your daily egg collections look like this!😍

My “laying flock” bring us just as much joy as our silkie flocks do!

Every bird in every group has been carefully researched and sought out to ensure that the table eggs we provide are just as HEALTHY as they are BEAUTIFUL!🤩

They are spoiled and loved on, fed trustworthy organic food and raised with true care! And call me bragging but I do feel like it shows when this is SOME of what they gave me JUST TODAY! ❤️

The coop is all freshened up and EGGS HAVE BEEN SET IN THE INCUBATOR! 🥰

Spring has sprung and we are working on digging out ALLLLLL of the old sand in the coop and run and trying a new system.

First we dug everything out level. Then trenched down and out for added safety which we then filled with steel wool followed by concrete along all sides.

Now that everything else has been dug completely out we are laying large cement pavers down (with no joint lines, hammered together for a tight seem) over our gravel and sand base. This will cover the entire run and coop base which also had hardware cloth skirting around the perimeter.

After the pavers we are back filling with sand for their substrate.

All removable items have been taken out and pressure washed. And all feathered friends will be getting their spring spa treatments as we breathe life back into the coop after a very cold and snowy winter.

All this to say, give us a couple days turn around time on messages. We have been a bit busy! 😂

Hoping to finish up the major parts this weekend so we can get some eggs set in the incubator next week!

💕UPDATE: THESE BABIES ARE CLAIMED AND OFF TO THEIR LOVING HOMES💕

Okay everyone, I got a little excited about all the babies I had been hatching and kept a few too many. Now I have to thin out the flock a little because once again I have a brooder full of chicks in my house. 🤣 I could have worse addictions right?

SOOOOOO these two beautiful babes are 👀 for their forever 🏡

Would make a wonderful breeding pair. 1 splash hen and 1 blue rooster. No visible flaws and already very bonded. Rooster is attempting to do his thing already.

Hatched in December so will soon be laying.
