World Ocean Day - Beach Clean Up with

Join us on Thursday, June 8th from 8:00am to 10:00am to clean the beach and parking lot at Surfrider Beach in Malibu. All volunteers are invited to The Surfirder’s roof deck for free coffees and good vibes following the clean up!

We’ll be taking over the espresso machine so you don’t want to miss out 💙🫶🏽🌊

There are many firsts when you start a business but this is definitely one of the tougher firsts! when we decided to open a café, it was super important to me that we fostered a family first environment in the space. We host a family dinner once a month, hang out with each other outside of work, support each other’s dreams and so much more. Well today, one of our family members is leaving Gnarwhal to begin his journey at an awesome teaching opportunity. Jacob has been a bright spot for all of us and we will miss his infectious smile & laugh! I know we will see you in the café but your energy on bar will always be cherished! Cheers, 💙🌊

As you could probably guess, Earth Day is a big deal around here. We're making a concerted effort to run the most planet-friendly coffee company...on the planet.

This Earth Day, enjoy 15% off your drink when you bring in your own reusable cup. Valid all day tomorrow at our cafe on Main Street.

If you are not local to the Santa Monica area, there are a couple of other ways you can celebrate Earth Day with us. Tomorrow, 10% of all online sales will be donated to our April partner and if you haven’t already signed up for our at home audit next week, you can do so via our story highlight. In honor of Earth Month, the Gnarwhal Community Foundation is partnering with whose mission is to empower action against the global health crisis of plastic pollution through science, education, advocacy and adventure.

Throughout the month we will be sharing information on plastic pollution and how you can make a difference starting in your own home. In addition to our tip matching and percentage of sales donation, follow along to find out how else you can get involved!

MARCH INITIATIVE UPDATE!

In partnership with , we are proud to introduce our first Impact Project for Women’s History Month!

This month we will be raising money to purchase goats for the farmers and members of the Hingakawa Women’s Association. This group was started by a group of entrepreneurial women in the post conflict region of Rwanda.

Goats are a multi use animal and in this region of Rwanda the goats are used for meat, milk to fight malnutrition, compost fertilizers for farmers and leather selling.

The goats are a major contributor to organic fertilizer that is essential in producing the exceptional coffee from the Abakundakawa Cooperative!

We can’t wait for you to try this remarkable coffee at the shop 🇷🇼❤️
