Yesterday members of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church BBQ Committee presented a check for $3,000.00 from this past August's Barbara Frear Memorial Chicken BBQ to the Walk to Emmaus Group at an event that Emmaus was having at the Rock Mountain Bible Camp in Susquehanna County.

Thank you all again for supporting this years Chicken BBQ.

The committee wants to thank all those who worked at or came to the BBQ last Saturday and we wanted to report our profit that will be presented to Emmaus in the near future.

We prepared 310 dinners and did not fully sell out. We ended the night with 62 full dinners and 7 partial dinners left. We donated those remaining dinners to the Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen in Tunkhannock and they were served on Monday evening.

We also made a nice profit and are able to donate $2,900.00 to Emmaus.

Thank you again for all those who supported the dinner.

This Saturday, August 28th we will be giving away back to school backpacks and school supplies as part of our Annual Chicken BBQ.
Backpacks will be available starting at 3:00 till 6:00 (or run out).

These backpacks were blessed at the August 22nd Worship service.
