🚨 UPDATE: Seymour Closing Dates Moved Up! Last Day for Hibachi is Now July 5th! 🚨
Seymour, we are moving our timeline up by one week! Please note our updated schedule below so you don't miss your last chance for hibachi at this location.
We want to thank our community for the support you've shown us over the last several months. While our Kodak store is thriving, we have made the business decision to close Red Box Hibachi in Seymour and convert the location into a different quick-service restaurant concept.
We want to be completely transparent with you about why we are making this change so early on. Running this location has come with some unique hurdles that made staying the course unsustainable:
🧑🍳 Early Crew & Management Hurdles: Finding the right management and team to execute a complex hibachi menu out of the gate was incredibly tough. Unfortunately, we took a pretty hard negative review hit due to this, and few people who had a great experience took time to leave positive reviews. While our current crew is absolutely amazing and we are so proud of them, those early staffing setbacks took a heavy toll on us.
🚗 The Drive-Thru Trap: Our building layout proved more challenging than expected as we want to cook food as fresh as possible for our customers. While some items can be hot-held like our chicken & rice, our steak, zucchini, onions, etc., were cooked to order. Once a car entered our lane, you were trapped until the order was done. We know the wait times were frustrating, and we want a menu that actually matches the convenience of a drive-thru.
⏳ Heavier Breakfast & Lunch Traffic: Over the last 6 months, we noticed a major trend: our corner sees much heavier traffic during the morning commute and the lunch rush than it does at dinner. Seymour is a heavy commuter town, and the thousands of people passing our traffic light during the day are in a hurry and need fast, portable food. A heavy dinner meal like hibachi just didn’t fit the fast-paced flow of when Seymour actually wanted to eat at our location.
Instead of throwing in the towel, we are adapting! We are keeping our incredible current crew and pivoting to a brand-new concept built for speed, value, and on-the-go convenience.
📅 July 5th: Red Box Hibachi Seymour permanently closes. (Kodak stays open!) Gift Cards will still be honored at our Kodak location.
📅 July 10th: Soft Opening for our new concept, Philly Crazy!
