Howdy friends — crowdfund update for you! We’re still rolling and are now at over 61% of the goal! It is very tempting for me to stop talking about it now because, vulnerability, and wow, this is honestly way more than I ever expected to come of this…but, we do still need your help. So, to keep the momentum going, let's talk about GOOD THINGS instead of debt! Let's talk about what our tiny team (1.5 bakers, market helper, and me, though the team really deserves most of the credit) has accomplished so far this year despite all the truly whacky obstacles in both our bakery and personal lives.

1. We’ve rolled out multiple new gluten-free products, including BREAD! We love converting folks to the wonders of GF focaccia, which I feel is the superior sandwich bread. We’ve also added scones!

2. We’ve made old favorites like cinnamon rolls more consistently available and added new variations like honey buns. And we still make the best GF (and maybe some of the best in general) pie crust around even though it really does take us multiple days to do it 😅

3. We’ve added a second farmers’ market each (well most) Saturdays and are loving getting to know the Maryville community.

4. We’re popping up at husmus studio | coffee + home goods every single Thursday, with more upcoming partnerships TBA.

5. We’ve celebrated Pi(e) Day for the fourth year in a row and have baked for you for pretty much every major holiday this year so far.

6. We’re doing our first FESTIVAL this weekend!

7. You, our wonderful community, have rallied around us for this crowdfund and reminded us how LUCKY WE STILL ARE.

We’ve been able to do all of this WITHOUT a storefront. And I KNOW we can do so much more if we keep going.

I don’t have a return-to-open timeline yet. That depends on a lot of things, most of which I can’t control. I’d like to think end of summer. If that isn’t workable, I have a couple other ideas. But, we still need your help in the meantime. Thank you so much to everyone who has already contributed. It’s not comfortable and sometimes feels unfair to others in need to keep asking, but, it’s where we have to be right now.

Wednesday market! We have galettes x3: 1) peach lavender 2) pimento cheese and tomato 3) street corn galettes. Also, strawberry jam hand pies, chocolate chip cookies, and our rosemary focaccia. FATHER'S DAY: pre-orders are live and it's a lighting round! Everything must be in by 5 on Wednesday. We have key lime pies, quiche, and choc chip cookie boxes.

IMPORTANT: Cookies may be scheduled for farmers' market pickup in Market Square, but if you want a KLP or quiche, you must do the 3 to 4 pm pickup slot at our bakery - it is too hot for these bbs to be kept at market. Just make sure you park in the UPPER lot as there is now zero access from the lower lot. It's a small menu but one we really love and we think your pop will, too! hotplate.com/smallcomfortskitchen

Summer faves are coming back into the rotation this week! We welcomed back Pimento Cheese & Tomato Galettes already, and this week we will also have Street Corn Galettes as well as something with PEACHES (I haven't decided yet because I'm too distracted eating them, shhh).

IMPORTANT update for this week - we will be at the Jackson Square Lavender Fest in Oak Ridge from 8 to 4 Saturday! We will ALSO be in Market Square, but not Maryville. Special lavender themed menu will be announced by the end of the week!

Regular weekday schedule is the same: find us at the Nourish Knoxville’s Farmers Markets Wednesday Market from 10 to 1 and Thursday at husmus studio | coffee + home goods from 8 to 12. It has been so sweet to meet new folks and see you build SCK treats into your routine! Menus will post ahead of each market - we don't have the same things every day (and yes, it's always 100% gluten free).

If you can't make any of these, please don't dismay because you can in fact find us ANY DAY of the week at our wholesale partner locations: Jacks of Knoxville, Partial Cafe, Primo Passo Coffee Co. Knoxville, and Three Rivers Market. Our storefront is still CLOSED so please keep these spots in mind if you're coming in for a vacation and we don't have a market on the day you want to visit!

Thank you so much for a double sold out market Saturday! Little bit of housekeeping before I disconnect for the weekend:

1) We are at close to 60% of our fundraising goal!! Through today you can still donate for a free Disco Chicken and Donuts meal when you donate $25 or more. She is the vibe, the moment, she is the tomato & pimento cheese galette. We were scrambling to get these out of the oven in time this morning, and then y'all sold us out of everything in about an hour! Wednesday has honestly been a slow market for us in previous weeks so I'm surprised/relieved/grateful. It also feels like savory is finally having a moment between the rotating galettes, focaccia, and scones, and I'm THRILLED.

I also continue to be thrilled & humbled by y'all's kindness. I saw someone share our fundraiser and say that they’re usually a pretty cynical person not prone to contributing to something like this - but that it was clear to them that our situation wasn't actually about our business itself failing. And gosh I needed to hear that. Like, look at this galette. We are good. Y'all are good. We're gonna get through this!

The gofundme is at almost 50% and I've been immediately applying the funds to debt repayment as they come in. It's already such a relief. Thank you for continuing to share while we work toward 100% and for showing up to markets in droves! Love ya.
