REMINDER!!! TOMORROW, SEPT 26, IS OUR LAST HOORAY!! 11am-3pm

Tomorrow is One For Me!! I’ve been playing all week and we are all over the place with food. There’s brisket tacos, a cold noodle bowl, a fried shrimp sandwich and gumbo. You’ll get a detailed menu in the morning, but I’ll tell you, I’ve made a pile of homemade sauces, a weird Thai Tempura Peanut Crunch topping that’s delicious, BBQ Sauce from my hand picked black berries. All the things. It’s been fun, it’s been frustrating, it’s been delicious, it’s been a disaster. It’s been all the things playing in a kitchen should be 😊

Weather looks absolutely wretched so we’re going out in classic Ketchikan style. Put on your gear and celebrate why God made To Go containers. And service has been set up to be FAST. I adjusted the menu just in case eeerybody decides to come. And if nobody comes, I don’t care cause after tomorrow I don’t have to put a bra on for a solid week. Weeee!!!

Guys, holy cow. Y’all showed up and then some. First off, thank you thank you thank you to all our wonderful regulars for being the nicest and making our whole summer brighter and better.

But I do owe y’all an apology. I am so sorry for the wait you all endured. We really wanted to provide a treat, but when it takes that long to get your food, it’s not a treat any more. I’d love to do this again each year, but I have to solve the logistics to make the experience what it should be. For the volume we do for Blueberry Fest, a lot of thought goes into what we serve to make it as fast as possible. Tonight I learned that serving our normal menu at this kind of volume just doesn’t work. Maybe it will mean splitting the event into 2 days with 1/2 the menu on one day and 1/2 the menu on the next. But I promise we’ll figure it out and get it running at a speed that we can be proud of. I’m just so sorry y’all ended up being cold, hungry Pig-a-lets for so long 😞

Also, I ended up with a Shrimp Roll with no home so I’m worried someone was missing it from their bag. In general, if in the chaos, any of y’all had an order issue or were missing anything, please get in touch.

It’s so weird setting up during the day for evening service. And I just realized we’re not super set up for night time on the lot. It’s gonna be a real high school makeout party vibe while you eat. Maybe BYOHeadlamp 🤣

I made about 4 days of food for tonight, so this place better look like the scene in Thriller with the zombies trying to get into the house. Come on in like ravenous bears. Zombie Pig-a-let Apocalypse!! Just get on in here hungry.

Reminder that we are only open tomorrow evening, 4pm-8pm, this week.

I’ve already starting playing for next week’s menu. You may not see any of these things, as the attempts often go awry, but here’s hoping. Bryan is smoking me a couple of ducks for some Duck & Andouille Gumbo. First time I’ve attempted it. And right out my front door has been the sweetest blessing of blackberries! I grew up picking them every summer so this has been making me giddy. I’m going to attempt a Blackberry BBQ Sauce. What is it going to go on, you ask? That’s a good question. With no answer yet. Who knows? It’s play week so no telling. I’m just glad I got to them before the bear did.

I’ll see all you Pig-a-lets tomorrow evening. Come hungry! Come happy! It’s gonna be fun 🙂

Go little Southwest Eggrolls! One more batch for sale today before we move into the weekend. It will be the LOCAL/REGULARS Special today. $10 bucks for an order of Eggrolls with an iced tea or $11 if you want a bottled water or canned soda instead. A smart girl would have taken a picture of them yesterday during service, but of course I didn’t, so enjoy a picture of Bryan looking like a hot nerd, eating one.
