I swear sometimes my intuition knows what I’m doing before I do. 🥹🤍

Tonight I ordered this absolutely beautiful midwifery & obstetrics fabric. It’s covered in babies in the womb, flowers, birth imagery, and tools used by the people who help bring babies earthside.

I didn’t really have a plan for it. I just saw it and immediately felt like I HAD to make something with it.

Then I realized the timing. 🥹

This week is National Midwifery Week, and October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month.

As a mom of two, pregnancy, birth, babies, and motherhood hold such a special place in my heart. Carrying and bringing my babies into this world were some of the most vulnerable, emotional, beautiful, and life-changing experiences of my life. Motherhood completely changed the direction of my life and, ultimately, played a huge part in why Miele Homestead exists in the first place. 🤍

It has also made me realize just how precious the journey of bringing a baby home really is—and that not every family gets the ending they dreamed of.

Once I realized what this week and this month represent, I knew I wanted this fabric to become something more than just another cute collection.

So I’m going to be creating a small Birth Worker Collection from it. 🪡🌿

I’m thinking pieces for midwives, doulas, L&D nurses, OB staff, mamas, and anyone else who has a special connection to pregnancy and birth—quilted bags, zipper pouches, supply bags, keepsake pieces, and whatever else this fabric inspires.

But this is the part I’m most excited about:

🤍 A portion of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to Sufficient Grace Ministries: Perinatal Hospice & Bereavement Support, an Ohio-based nonprofit that supports families walking through miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, and life-limiting prenatal diagnoses. Their mission is so very important.

After the support you guys showed during our fundraiser for the Hardin County Dog Warden, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want Miele Homestead to stand for as it grows.

So maybe this is the beginning of something new:

The Good We Grow🤍

I would love to continue choosing different causes and organizations throughout the year and finding ways for this little business and the community growing around it to do some good together. It may be a fundraiser, a special collection, donated items, or something completely different depending on the cause.

For October, this one just feels right.

To the families carrying babies in their arms and the families carrying babies only in their hearts—your babies mattered. They are loved. They are remembered. 🤍

And to the midwives, doulas, nurses, doctors, and other birth workers who walk beside families through some of the most beautiful—and sometimes most heartbreaking—moments of their lives: thank you.

Okay, I know Halloween isn’t even here yet… but LOOK. 😭🎄🍪

I’ve officially started planning Christmas cookie trays, and I’m already way too excited about them. Last year I underestimated how many people were going to order them so I’d like to get the word out a little sooner than later. I’m thinking a mix of classic Christmas favorites, some being nostalgic recipes my Nana used to make, and the rest being my own recipes.

I’m planning to open a limited number of Christmas preorders in early-mid November, with pickup right before Christmas.

Would you rather bring home the SMALL tray or the “we have an entire family coming over” tray? 😂

🐾 THANK YOU. 🐾

Now that our fundraiser has officially come to an end, I just want to say how incredibly thankful I am for every single person who supported it. 🤎

Whether you purchased a bandana, p**p bag holder, cookie or sticker, donated directly, shared one of my posts, or simply helped spread the word — you were a part of this.

Because of everyone’s support, we were able to donate $160 to the Hardin County Dog Warden. On top of that, we also donated food, treats and a few other things they could probably use. 🐶❤️

That may not seem huge in the grand scheme of things, but every dollar, bag of food, treat and share helps when you’re caring for dogs that have been lost, dumped or surrendered and are waiting for their next home.

And apparently we decided donating wasn’t enough because we also left with a little buddy to foster for the weekend. 😂🐾 So I guess you could say the fundraiser came with a bonus.

I’m genuinely so grateful for everyone who helped make this happen. It means so much to be able to use Miele Homestead for something bigger than just selling things.

And we’re not done yet — we’re already planning to do something special for them again around Christmas, so stay tuned. 🎄🐶 I’d love to keep finding ways for us to support them when we can.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting the fundraiser, supporting my small business, and helping us give back to dogs in our community. 🤎

Thank you SO so so much 💞💞💞

Apparently someone on the homestead has been keeping a VERY tiny secret from us 🥹🦆

Went outside this morning and discovered one of our girls with BABIES 😭 I cannot handle the tiny little peeps following her around.

How many do you think she hatched?! 👀

Somewhere along the way, the life I used to daydream about became my everyday life. 🥹🤎

Little feet running through the house, animals waiting to be fed, things growing, something always being made, and a whole lot of beautiful chaos in between.

It’s not always slow. It’s definitely not always peaceful. But goodness, I’m grateful this is ours. 🌾🦆🧵

🐾 FINAL DAY OF OUR FUNDRAISER! 🐾

Just look at some of these sweet faces wearing their Miele Homestead bandanas. 🥹
🤎

And a special shoutout for Libby, Donnie, and Leo, (first 3 pictured) who were all adopted from the Hardin County Dog Warden!

Today is the last day of our September fundraiser and we still have a few goodies left!

🐶 Dog bandanas $5
💩 Poo bag holders $5
🐾 Stickers $2

The shelter continues to deal with a growing number of stray, lost, and dumped dogs — and they desperately need more kennel space. Every little bit helps them continue giving dogs in our community somewhere safe to go.

Don’t need anything? You can still help! 🐾

The best way ? SHARE THIS POST - getting the word out is the best way to help!

We have a direct donation link, and donations made through it go directly to the Hardin County Dog Warden. Even if it’s only $1 — seriously. If enough people give just a dollar, those dollars add up FAST. 🤎

If you’ve been thinking about grabbing something from us, today is the day! Inventory is limited to what we have left, and this is the final day of the fundraiser.

And a HUGE thank you to everyone who has purchased, donated, shared our posts, or sent me pictures of your pups showing off their bandanas. Seeing your babies wearing something I made while knowing it helped other dogs makes my heart so happy. 🥹

✨ Want to help before tonight?
Grab one of our remaining fundraiser items, donate directly through the link, or simply share this post.

$1 matters. A share matters. It all adds up. 🐾🤎

THANK YOU💜💜💜
