What a WEEKEND!
Village of Funk — Y’ALL SHOWED UP! We seriously cannot thank this community enough for the incredible welcome and support you gave us Friday. From the moment we pulled in, you kept our window BUSY!
The multiple-meals on each ticket just kept coming, and before we knew it… YOU SOLD US OUT! 🫶🏽🔥
Every person who stopped by, grabbed a meal, came back for seconds, brought a friend, or simply came out to support us — THANK YOU. Small communities showing up for small businesses is something we never take for granted, and Funk absolutely showed us some love. ❤️
AND because apparently we don’t know how to slow down, we decided to throw our hat in the ring for COMPETITIVE BBQ. 🏆
This was Sizzle Stackerz’ FIRST EVER BBQ COMPETITION.
Oh… and DID WE MENTION WE WERE THE ONLY ALL-FEMALE TEAM?! 💁🏽♀️🔥
So naturally, we thought, “Sure, let’s go compete against some of the best.” 😂
By the best, we mean SEASONED CHAMPS, including a few reigning champions this season. These folks have put in the reps and have competitive BBQ down to an absolute science.
We’re not going to pretend we didn’t get humbled a little. 😂 Competitive BBQ is a whole different beast. The trimming, precise cuts, timing, tenderness, consistency and presentation are WAY beyond your typical backyard BBQ.
Are we proud? Damn right we are.
We learned a TON, found exactly where we need more practice, and now we have something to chase. We’re still competitive as hell — we just know there’s another level to this game.
We’ll keep practicing those pretty little competition cuts, keep learning from the seasoned pros, and eventually we’ll throw ourselves back into the fire.
Until then, we’ll keep doing what we know best —feeding hungry people and keeping Sizzle Stackerz rolling. 😎🔥
