It was almost 9 years ago when I first purchased land to start farming. It was this same moon, over this same meadow that inspired our name. It was almost 6 years ago that I made the difficult decision to shift gears from farming into full time pastries. It wasn’t long after that when I decided to sell the parcel. I was a single dad, and a mortgage and truck payment were taking their toll. I was working a full time job in addition to baking through the night every Friday for the Calumet farmers market. It was such a grind.

Fast forward. With Shannon’s full support I’ve been in full time chef mode for the last 3 years. Our business has been consistently growing each season. We are connecting more and more with guests and clients who share our passion for fresh ingredients & local food. I’m no longer solo on most events. We’ve got an amazing team who also appreciates food the same way that we do. The connections that we share not only foster a positive work environment, but have also given birth to friendships. The vibes are unheralded as we buck the toxic kitchen culture that can overtake many establishments.

As proud as I am, I still was carrying some remorse over selling the farmland. I had not driven by it in almost 6 years. I felt like I had failed at something. After rolling through a big wedding cater Saturday in Republic straight into a private chef gig on Monday night in the Keweenaw I told myself that it had been long enough. It was very emotional for me, but I finally drove by past. Same moon. Same meadow. But a very different chapter. I finally felt peace. No longer looking back. No regrets. We are full forward. I am grateful for all of your support. Forever, Moonlight Meadows 🌛

August 16th dinner recap

As the rain faded giving way to gentle sunshine, and our guests started to arrive the low buzzing of the honey bees in the fields orchestrated the harmonious symphony of our team as we flowed through our best dinner to date. The more we work together, the more we maintain our groove. Efficiency becomes a verb, and the smiles and laughter of our guests fuels it. We are so grateful for everyone who supports what we do. If these pictures are making you hungry, we’ve got one more dinner for the season coming up on September 13th. Come be our guest. Head over to https://www.moonlightmeadows.shop/events/p/farm-to-table-september13th to reserve your seat.

First farm to table dinner of the season is in the books! We had so much fun putting our passion on a plate for our guests. I’m incredibly proud of our team and what we were able to accomplish together! This was our first dinner without Rock River’s legendary farm dog Richard Dickerson. He was the goodest boy and his presence will always be with us! If you’re feeling a little fomo and want to snag tickets for the next dinner on July 19th you can find them here 👉 https://www.moonlightmeadows.shop/events ! I also can’t forget to give another shoutout to our local farmers from the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market who provided us with the freshest vegetables and ingredients possible: Full Plate Farm Big Creek Farm Yooper Country Cloverland Farm, Guindon Farms & Fresh Wind Farm.

June 28th Menu 🌷

If you’ve been waiting to see what the first menu has to offer the wait is over! We’ve still got a few seats left but they’re going quick so hit up https://www.moonlightmeadows.shop/events and lock yours down.

I think a few of these dishes are familiar but a few may catch you off guard. Caramelle is a stuffed pasta very similar to agnolotti but it has a candy wrapper shape. Very fun and easy to enjoy. Clafoutis is a decadent French pastry from the Limousine region of France. This dessert features fresh fruit and a custardy filling. Chef Bryan is in his bag & we’re really gonna blow the doors off of this one. We look forward to serving you!

Farm to Table 2026!!

We’re excited to announce our 2026 Farm to Table Series with Rock River Farm! What can you expect this year? Handmade pasta, a few Szechuan favorites including ramen and dumplings, and most likely some Texas style BBQ just to name a few. We’re digging deep into our skill set for this season in an effort to deliver another series that is sure to leave you craving more. The tone will be set by farm fresh local ingredients courtesy of the amazing farmers and producers from the Marquette Farmer’s Market. Our cuisine continues to be centered around putting the local spotlight on the accessibility and freshness of our friends in the fields who work hard so you can taste a little of the summer. Your lovely dinner experience includes a five-course plated meal, a tour of the farm, and a beverage pairing. Tickets and event dates are posted here https://www.moonlightmeadows.shop/events Our mantra is ‘food for all’ meaning we always do our best to honor dietary restrictions so please disclose those when you purchase your tickets! Thank you so much for dining local and we look forward to serving you 🫶
