On Wednesday we had our first Billy Strings customers. Thanks to Jim and Melissa and so so so many Billy fans for shopping local. This Billy boom has been a tremendous opportunity for downtown.

A lot changes in 7 years' time! Our anniversary reminded us that we're long overdue for an update. Here's the latest:

WE'RE OPENING SOON 😆

We haven't intentionally been withholding updates, we've just been hyperfocused on other opportunities that have presented themselves to us this year.

Margot has been on a successful art streak and that will continue to take precedence for the time being. That said, we are looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here at the shop. We've never been able to resist downtown Ionia and we're ready to be part of this second wave of energy that's upon us. A lot of exciting changes to downtown since we were last open! Downtown Renaissance: Part 2 is here and we want to be around for it

Our current goal is to be open for Billy Strings weekend or thereabouts. And the hope going forward from there is to be open (nearly?) year round.

We'll see how it goes. Even we're not sure exactly what the future holds, we just know we love historic downtown, love our gorgeous building and love our customers/friends and we've been missing shop life. Cook & Co. 2.0 coming soon enough ❤️

Hi! We're changing things up but we'll be open soon.

Any decent downtown needs an array of retail options and that's exactly what Ionia has been lacking for awhile. Like, "awhile" as in the 80s. As in a decade before Margot was even alive.

It won't be the same Cook's from years past but of course we'll still have candy, baked goods and ice cream treats.

So anyhow, we're very late opening for "ice cream season" but that's because ice cream isn't our sole focus anymore. But we think you'll like what we have in store. See everyone soon!
