I don't set New Year's "resolutions." I set goals for the year. I set two goals for myself this year: 1) learn how to bake sourdough 2) learn how to can food
Sourdough has intimidated me forever. I have been gifted starter that I let die. And I've tried, unsuccessfully to make my own starter. I gave my own starter another go recently and it took off, so it was time to make a loaf. The process started two days ago, feeding my starter before bed. Then I mixed the dough the next morning, and did all the stretches and fermenting and shaping. It rested in the fridge overnight before baking this morning and I cannot wait for it to cool so I can cut into it!
Now for the canning.....
